Watercolor pencils and How I use them... 3 techniques.
1) Color in your petal or shape, with the colors you like, wet your paintbrush, no drips, and wash over the colors, allow them to blend and swirl together, get creative maybe red and yellow to make orange! Save those white spaces :-)
2) Wet your Princeton 8 Velvetouch
amzn.to/3RGJkz1 ( or Dugato Brush Set amzn.to/42NxUeX) and run it along the tip of your watercolor pencil, to pick up color, use it to paint your shapes and petals.
This is great when your traveling, especially with a water brushes. (SO HANDY and easy to travel with. no water wells needed!) bityl.co/M2Fy
3) Use your regular watercolors to paint your shapes, next, use your pencils to add details, viens in your petals, outline, whatever adds a little pop and interest!

📜On PAPER, I’ve used Meeden and Artisto for many years, and you’ll see me use one or the other in most of my tutorials. My Meeden paper suggestion is 100% cotton, has a really great texture and is finer grade. My Artisto paper recommendation is student grade, handles lots of water, (still good for wet on wet) and is a bit less expensive.
