Do you like painting roses and flowers, or do you find them rather tricky?!
@ChristinaTodd1970

In the Studio with Michele Webber I love painting flowers. It's all I really want to paint and I have to force myself to branch out and paint other things. I like landscapes too but stink at architecture and cannot paint portraits. ☹️

@@ChristinaTodd1970 It sounds like your problem may be drawing? Although architecture is tricky, flowers are little structures too, and drawing skills help flower painting. Portraits are extremely hard! x

@@ChristinaTodd1970 try still life. It's easier than architecture and some simple shapes on a table (try food tins and tea bag boxes etc) will teach you the exact same principles 🖌️

I am a beginner and have been frustrated many times trying to paint a rose. This video (like yr others) is so helpful. Your narration as you paint contains a wealth of info, not simply patter or "filler" -- it answers so many questions that have been swirling in my mind. Great teacher -- Thank you!

I love to draw roses. When trying to paint, I've been using too much paint. I will be rewatching this video. I really would have liked to seen more of the painting that you said would have taken too much time. By rewatching the video, I think I'll "get the concept". Definitely appreciate your teaching style. You explain what you're going to do, then do it, & repeat saying what you have done. I think roses are so varied I would love to see more of them. Only have seen two of your videos but will be in your studio often. So happy I found you. Many thanks for sharing your skills and experience. I'm physically handicapped so 'going to school' would be almost impossible. A fan in Maryland.

Do you have a YT tutorial for using pencil to sketch prior to watercolor painting? Would love to view it. I try to keep sketch lines light, but am not pleased with my inability to erase after painting. Have tried water soluble pencils and am not a fan if those. Would love to hear how you manage the issue! Thank you.

How do you erase pencil lines once painted over? I have never been able to do that.
@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber Жыл бұрын
It's sometimes possible, because the paint sinks in and the pencil remains, but it does depend on the type of pigments and number of layers used. Alternatively paint up to one side of the line, let it dry, erase then paint up to the other side.
