Watercolor Tulips: Painting the Gardens on Spring Creek ✿ Plein Air Vlog #56

In this week's vlog, I paint some two-toned tulips at the Gardens on Spring Creek in Fort Collins, Colorado. You'll get to see how I work under variable lighting conditions, and several methods I use when painting green backgrounds. (Just don't attempt them all at once like I did -- lol!) There were artists and blooms everywhere, and the birds were singing their hearts out. All in all, a lovely morning to be outside. :)

Thanks so much for watching! 🥰Glazes are one of the reasons I love watercolor so much. It's so immediate. I mean, I can add a glaze with oils -- but that can take days or even weeks for the first layer to dry. 🌵🌵🌵

Nice save with the purple. Backgrounds are my Achilles heel Were you the last one to leave? I appreciate your tenacity!

Yep I was the last. I was waiting for my bag to dry out from that sudden spill, but in general I can be a bit of a pokety-poke when it comes to setting and packing up. Some of those gals are FAST. :)
