This is one of my favorites!! And I’d much rather watch you than Louise de Masi!! Her paintings are pretty but just so perfect!! Yours are real and lively!! Thank you for being you!! No we don’t have that saying about someone’s lungs! And also, during our childhood, the most we women could hope for was to be a teacher. You were probably very very good but look at you now!! I sure couldn’t run a KZfaq channel! And your paintings and especially your chatter are enjoyed by people all over the world!! Wow! I do hope that you know what a delightful companion you are for so many. What a legacy!! I am sorry about your hand! I take a good but gentle medicine for arthritis and it really makes a difference in my quality of life! Carry on, Diane! We are all rooting for you! (I don’t know if you say that in English!) I almost got myself in trouble with our common but sometimes different language when we lived in Oxford…I told a story about having a tarantula in my pants… of course I meant my trousers! But here we call them pants! I hope that cheers you up for a bit!!💕

Hi Donna, thanks so much for your kind and thoughtful message! I appreciate everything you say and I know you often comment, which is great ! It’s true that career options were very limited for us in our generation. As a youngster I wanted to be a veterinarian, but the number of women who managed to get into university to train as vets was minuscule - same for doctors - and sadly there was a big class divide, where your best chances were very much linked to who your parents were. I was the first in our family to make it to university so we had no family connections. Makes it much harder to make your way. However, that was then and this is now and looking back there’s not much I would change about my life. Thanks again and be sure that we are not planning to stop any time soon - this channel is a god-given gift for sure and reaching so many people who need something our channel can give, so as long as we can, we will xxxxx

Oh my. This video hit me on so many levels. First it’s a rainy morning here in late summer in South Carolina and these lovely birds and flowers are so cheering. You also spoke of childhood in London and it brought back my childhood memories of the late 60s early 70s when I lived in southeast England in Ipswich. At that time, I collected comics from the newspapers and all sorts of comic books and practiced drawing them, I remember Andy Capp! I fancied being a comic book artist when I grew up but life led to something different for me. Thanks for sharing a bit of your life with us

I love this painting. Thank you so much for your honest evaluations, but I think you sell yourself short! I watch all those other watercolor artists, and I love them all, but I love your uniqueness! There is only one Diane, and we all love you, your videos and your conversation too. I spent a lot of time sick as a child too...had several unexplained long term illnesses my whole life and didn't get a diagnosis until I was 44. I was diagnosed with 3 autoimmune diseases, so when Covid happened, and I heard that the vaccine could cause autoimmune problems I decided to check and see if any of my mysterious childhood illnesses had any thing to do with various vaccines. I found out that every time I was sick was right after a vaccines. Even in my adult life, when I had vaccines I became very sick. I can say I will never get another vaccine, but I also did a lot of research to find my way to a better quality of life. I can recommend Drs. Steven Gundry, Eric Berg, Jason Fung and Sten Ekberg. Its amazing what I learned from them on KZfaq for free. Certain (Healthy) foods can adversely affect our health. At the age of 70, I have found better quality of life. I hope you can find some help there as well.

Hi Shari and thanks very much for your interesting message. I’m so glad you enjoy the channel and my videos and I appreciate your kind comments! It’s very interesting what you say about vaccine caused illnesses and it’s quite likely that was my problem too - thanks so much for the references to those doctors, I have now subscribed to them and will be looking at their content, there are lots of interesting bits of information there which might help me and my husband. We all have things wrong with us these days, even my daughter who is only 43 has lots of health issues. Thanks again, so glad you’ve improved your quality of life, you’re the same age as me give or take a few months, so that’s very encouraging for me! Take care and happy painting!

I’m not sure things have changed for the better!!!! My parents were divided on what me and my sister should do - my mum just wanted us to get married and have kids, but my dad wanted us to become educated and contribute to the world. In the end I did both, it just took a while for me to get round to the artistic streak I should have followed had I been born into a wealthy family instead of abject poverty!!!!!!!

And did.Aced my Biology and even got top of year in mocks.Without revision .And not being there the full course.Teacher would ask me questions.?..But the best education came from life, from people And now being on my own looking after myself and feeling free for the first time in my life .Just can’t go out often as I am disabled and in pain a lot.But I still learn new things every day .Just wish sometimes I did not ,or had the funding to leave the U.K.!but hey ho .Could be worse.I enjoy your natter and paintings. My painting is way too perfect ,intense I guess .I wish I could go looser ,I must have a go ,watched so many of yours now..Love n Light 🥰

Yes, I’m not quite sure what that’s all about, but we have to remember that colors can be adjusted on camera and what you see is not always true!!! I think though that for a peach color it’s best to use a pink rather than red - Permanent Rose or Opera Pink - together with a warm yellow like Cadmium Yellow - I always forget this when I’m mixing!

I liked watching your thought process during this painting. I wanted to mention too that I was watching Lindsay the other day and she is doing a review of the Meeden paints at some point - but she mentioned that so far she didn't like them. I did buy a set....I like how vibrant the colours are....and I know that you like them...I think the reviews that artists on KZfaq do are very important and it's interesting to see what some really like and others don't like at all. Anyways ...just an observation. Thank you for today's video...as always I have learned something. Hope you have a wonderful week.

Absolutely delightful!! I'm going to paint on some branches and just do these leaves and flower doodles for practice in all dif colors. Forget the birds.....I became frustrated, but I struggle so much with my hands for accuracy. They become more painful quicker doing something with a little more precision than doing something more loosely but that's ok. I've had to adjust to many things in my life just like everyone else and I'm fine. I do want to try those blob/plop? birds though I'm sure I can manage those lol. My handwriting is no longer legible. I was in High School here in California when 'Andy Capp' came out....love that cartoon! I don't get a newspaper these days so no longer see it nor a lot of other things....sigh. Thanks much for sharing.

Hi Judit, not an ignorant question at all! I don’t know what kind of palette you have, but if there isn’t enough room to write the initials of the color behind the paint in each section, then you could draw out a swatch card to match your palette layout and label that instead. It’s a bit more awkward but it works. I use both methods, as I still sometimes need to check what color is what. But you will get to know them eventually, if you don’t have TOOOO many colors!

@@DianeAntoneStudio, thank you so much! I don't have a lot of space on my palette so I will swatch, I think.

💥I don’t believe that you were a horrible teenager Diane. 😉 I’m sure you were joking but I imagine you as being a quiet, thoughtful child. - “She,” may have envied you a wee bit? Perhaps she was able to feel your Daddy’s love for you. - Thankyou for sharing your lovely memory of your Dad with us. 🫶 How sweet of him…. saving all the newspapers with cartoons, for you to enjoy after returning home. - He must have been thinking of you a lot, while you were in the hospital! ♥️ - I enjoyed hearing a little part of your life. But I hope I didn’t overstep my boundaries! At times I misunderstand. (Old age I guess. ) 😞😊 I most certainly apologize if I did! - You had me thinking of my own youth. (Some good / some not so good.) Those times were different!! Regardless, I haven’t many regrets. :)) Blessings 🕊🌹 ps I meant to tell you that I enjoyed watching you paint. I love the colours and the line work!! I’m sitting down to try some line work for the first time. I believe it should make watercolour easier, and much more fun‼️

Thank you so much for your lovely comments Taven ❤️ please never imagine that you have overstepped any kind of boundary. It’s wonderful that people listen to my stories and point things out that for decades have gone unnoticed by me! It’s funny how when you’re very young you don’t see what later seems so obvious - like somebody else’s jealousy, or one of the kind acts that are done quietly for you. I’m so glad you also enjoy the videos and watching the paintings. It’s certainly has brought a lot of joy into my life. At this stage. I only regret is that I didn’t find KZfaq 10 years earlier! But never mind! We’re all having fun together now, aren’t we?❤️❤️❤️

More than not, they inspire me, surprise me, enlighten me and make me laugh. I too, am thankful to have this platform. ✔️🎯
