Paint along with this easy watercolour tutorial to create a beautiful carnation flower! These beautiful flowers can seem dense and frilly but I have a neat little trick to help you capture the frills with a two-tone composition and a loose style. This quick watercolor tutorial will show you how to build out the carnation flower layer by layer for a stunning finish.
For this watercolour floral tutorial you will need:
- Watercolour paint in two-tone for the flower, plus a green. I'm using Winsor & Newton Professional watercolour paint, in Cadmium Yellow, Winsor Red Deep and Sap Green.
- Watercolour brushes - I'm using Princeton Aqua Elite Round size 6 and size 2 - I recommend a smaller brush as well for the details
- Watercolour paper - I'm using Legion Stonehenge Aqua Coldpress 100% cotton in a 7x10 block
