The City was grossly incompetent with regard to this purchase. They were rushed by the seller and they didn't perform due diligence until it was too late, if ever. Because of this they got fleeced at the expense of taxpayers.

He seems pretty good. The City Manager, though! They couldn’t go into the basement because it was locked? Then the viewing isn’t complete. Would you buy a house without being able to see every room or go into the basement? I’m not necessarily blaming the CM alone for that but he seems to be just fine without being allowed to see the basement. And he purposely only discusses the “walk through” viewing. Did anyone from the City ever see the basement before the final purchase? If not, that is gross incompetence.

Censure Olney, he is so obnoxious and can't seem to follow the rules and shut up when others are speaking.

Funny how you throw around a generic term "rules" when the truth starts to come out and you don't like what you hear!......These people couldn't even take care of the homeless this past winter BUT yet purchase a golf course for and from their RICH friends......

Mr Hickey, Ms Ruggiero and Mr Olney voted for the Golf Course purchase or the "money pit" against public comments and without due diligence. Their purchase will cost Watertown taxpayers.

Amazing Olney said that the city attorney works for him!!! and then the attorney pointed out that Olney is on the side of the vendor and not the city...and Olney continued to talk over everyone...Olney was insulting to the attorney and the mayor...and Counsel women Compo is exactly correct about the golf course deal...and I remember who said the Golf Course was a turnkey operation and that was Mr. Olney...the city of Watertown got ripped off over this Golf Course deal...and we continue to get ripped off.
