Between Ash and Peppa from Stanford's gymnastics team, (as seen on Ian Gunther's channel) certain men really ARE good at both men's and women's gymnastics!

Honestly, I hope not. I've fantasized about men doing beam, but that would rly take something unique away from women's gymnastics. Plus, men may get way better and more difficulty on beam than women after a while, and then the women on beam is an after thought. Like if men dismount with a double double, then Simones double double is not as unique and significant. Just IMO

@@darklight1030unlikely, it would take away from women’s gymnastics and it’s unlikely to ever become part of the men’s apparatus. If you look at the skills and abilities you’d need to train for beam, it’s not complementary with how men’s gymnasts train on their other apparatus. With men already having 6 apparatus, it doesn’t make sense to train the precision and foot balance necessary for beam, competitively. Also, since turns and leap series are not currently within MAG really, you’d likely see those requirements change . Probably would see flairs instead of turns? I’m always pro-evolution of gymnastics as a sport, but I wouldn’t be concerned about men changing or taking away from how beam apparatus is competed. There are men’s gymnasts who have done beam routines for exhibitions at meets. Always cool to see.

No doubt about it. I have watched a few videos by this bloke and he is brilliant! He may not be perfect but he is tenacious and achieves his routines brilliantly

It's the combination of skill, effort, humour, personality and incredible willingness to try new things and enjoy life that makes Ash so watchable. Ash looks like he has so much fun, watching these always makes me wanna play on the beam until I actually get in a gym with a beam. The desire to play on it leaves pretty quickly at that point

I don't think there is a skill out there that Ash can't accomplish. He was blessed with unbelievable coordination, flexibility and balance...and of course charm and dashing good looks.

I loveee when you do beam. Shows just how exhausting beam is as an event. And, to do all the skills within the time limit too, keep smashing it!

If Jay does compete next year as touched upon in her video where she learnt one of Sammy’s skills video, I would say it would be epic to see Ash complete his beam performance, maybe including the flight section, to keep the crowd entertained while everyone gets ready for receiving their awards.

Incredible!!! You guys are so freaking uplifting and inspiring. I love that I know I can watch any upload any of you make and end up with a smile on my face (and usually quite a lot of belly laughing). I can’t say enough about how thrilled I am your guys’ channels were suggested to me. It’s a tough world, but I forget about that for a while when I’m watching you guys support each other and have a blast doing it! I have mad respect for what Ash has done working on beam. We had a beam at my high school. I tried just getting on the thing; whacking my chin badly. I was done after that!

Woha that really was good. Im not just saying that. There was so much control and honestly really good. I never competed beam but i learned alot and it was ok but i was more scared of the bars because i dont like heights. I dont think i could ever of done a wolf spin.

ASH WATSON !!! You did that. That was amazing. some women can't do what you just did honestly how much time did it take you to learn that and get it on video? If you learned that and showed it in all under 20 mins. Sammy and Jay are right there are 2 kinds of people in the Watson's and everyone else. My hubbi and I watched this more than once. THIS WAS AMAZING AND YOU DESERVE THAT. Sammy U did an amazing job getting something together with all the needed things. This was the best video. !!! Love it can't wait to see what else you can do.
