I never understood the location of the ECU on this engine until now. The heat sink of the ECU has a constant flow of air around it all the time the engine is running. A very clever design.

Marvelous work, I can't stand these typical mechanics just rushing everything without passion, I can't really blame them because that is how the industry forces them to work so they can make money. Regardless, I enjoyed watching someone taking care and meticulously working on a car.

Learnt something new from this video, lubricating it before putting it in.

T25 bit for the bolts and Torx socket for the 4 top bolts came out with a regular 8mm socket and a bit of care.

I have an Infiniti Q50 Sport diesel which has the same engine with a Nissan ECU on top of the airbox. Would a Mercedes air filter be interchangeable with the Infiniti?

Brilliant piece of engineering. Slap the ecu right on top of the air box as that's an item that doesn't get replaced very often. Also not sure how it works in germany for mechanics but this guy must be getting paid by the hour as he spends a ridiculous amount of time. I do enjoy his vids though.

Do you know if there is another way to reset air filter settings after replacing it besides Star? After the air filter change, I must tell the ecu that it has a new filter and I don't have Star/Xentry. Thank you very kind.

Hi ich habe grade den luftfilter so gewechselt wie du es hier gezeigt hast. Als ich den deckel drauf machen wollte stand es so bißchen hoch. Habe dann alle schrauben angezogen und nach meiner meinung sitzt der deckel jetzt gut drauf. Ist es den normal dass es bißchen hoch steht? Und dann durch anziehen komplett runter geht. Dachte erst mal hätte filter falsch rein gemacht

Hey Andreas.....absolut gute Arbeit. Wenn ich in München leben würde, wäre ich vermutlich Stammkunde in Eurer Werkstatt. Hab in dem Gesamtzusammenhang was den OM 651 mal ne Frage. Werden defekte Glühkerzen im Speicher hinterlegt und wie sehr muss der Motor zerlegt werden um an die Kerzen zu kommen. Interessant wäre auch zu wissen wie oft Ihr bei Euch solche Fälle habt. Bei mir leuchtet im Kalten Zustand die Glühkontrolle ganz normal kurz auf und geht dann nach Motorstart aus und er läuft normal würde ich sagen. Wenn der Motor jetzt bereits minimal warm ist also Kühlwasser über 30 Grad und ich starte dann geht die Glühkontrolle normal kurz an und direkt nach dem Aus wieder an bis der Motor läuft. Dann geht Sie normal aus und auch nicht wieder an. Irgendwie ist das ein merkwürdiges Verhalten. Es sei denn ich hab Halos und das soll so sein. Liegt vermutlich daran, dass man bei den kalten Tagen vom Februar mehr darauf geachtet hat. Schon mal besten Dank für ein kurzes Feedback....Gruß Thorsten

For anyone close to ripping that junction point(?) seen at 0:15 out. On my model you can just slide it forward, no need to pop a clip or anything.

gerans engeneering are going wrong, you remobe the calculator to get access to the air fliter, afther 10 air fliterswitches your calculator cables and connectors are used from flexions

Actually you can replace the air filter WITHOUT removing the ecu! The cover can be lifted with the ecu on. You can try.

Es ist schade, dass es etwas aufwändiger Luftfilter zu wechseln wie bei anderen Autos!Es ist aber Öl-Filter viel leichter zu wechseln!

Any wonder mechanics charge so much, back and forward to the work bench for tools when you should know what you need
