The way it opened up that vocal was insane

The acoustic guitar sample is extremely good. Took that boxy mid range away just beautifully. Somehow made it sound like it was phase corrected too.

First time on this channel. Was looking at this plugin on-sale. Good word on the brightness (8:34) and sense of functionality with mixing multiple instances of it!! I relate to that when referring-to any plugins, to exemplify moderation of the gear for a more-specific purpose. Great video!!

Got it for $21 earlier today, popped it onto a drum buss and it added a lot of heft and bite. I'll be reaching for this plugin for that brand of impact when I decide to not route through my RND 5211. There are other plugins for this purpose, but nothing wrong with adding another paint onto the palette. Awesome job Abbey Road Studios and Waves!

You can tell this was made for tape since it has such a high top end to account for hf rolloff on the tape. This would go really well with Goodhertz Wow Control or Acustica Taupe

If you haven't gone over it already in a pervious video, could you discuss the frequencies and types of eq's you use pre and post saturation. Either for this plugin or more general terms (obviously it will be different with each type of saturation, but some general tips/guidelines etc.)

Not yet on the Waves site. And you published it a few hours ago, then pulled it off Utube, now published again, even before its available for sale on Waves..... Definitely not a subtle plugin, but I think this is good, you take a decision, and go in some direction, adding character that is audible....without having to use too many plugins in the chain (albeit this is already a rack of plugins in one plugin chain, in one plugin). Very good demo. Another one for the GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) aka Temptation for the wallet. We live in a great day for audio, with so many tools for exploring sonic creativity, and some of them are not expensive even for beginners, so the real deal is all about your skill, not just the gear you own.... somehow levelling the playing field of what you can achieve as a mixing engineer. I think its also a good day for those who mix for voluntary purposes, who can still aim to attain very high levels of sonic excellence and creativity without needing an expensive studio. The real differentiation is now experience, where regrettably or truthfully, practice practice practice, its the person who does this for a living doing at least one mix every day, or every other day, who will get better and better and better, and under pressure of economic survival, will also get faster and faster and faster with using these tools.... And it is the person who uses a greater variety and quality of input material who will also get better and better and better. It will always take a lot of commitment and commercial savvy, and sacrifice to be in the right place, at the right time, with the right people, who will get ahead as the in-demand mixing engineers. Ultimately I think all these tools are just a bit distracting cos it takes time to learn each of them. Its only the tools you know very well and use all the time, that you can become very good at, and with so many plugins out there, one has to take a choice and stick to a few well known plugins, and rotate between them, otherwise mixing becomes a nightmare trying to find the right plugin for a specific sound cos there really is not one way to a right sound, so if "perfection " is your goal, you will spend a long time mixing and trying too many options, but if commerce is important a quick turnaround is also important. What I love about these "channel " plugins is that you have so many options in one plugin on screen at the same time, really quick for productivity. Clearly that seems to be the way to go - rack concepts like Schepps Omni Channel, or Slate Virtual Rack.., so you have tons of control on the screen at the same time. If only one could have a rack plugin that enables the same kind of thing - and the horizontal layout is more intuitive than the top down approach, but it would be nice to be able to switch between these presentations of a chain of plugins.. the 500 series lends itself to left to right presentation like slate Rack, while the top down presentation is more like the plugin liste in Reaper. A good day for audio, and a very long comment on Utube.

Sounds surprisingly good! Would probably use it parallel as the low end seems to drop too much. Does this plugin have a crossover or wet/dry knob or is the EQ sufficient to target the effect to a specific region?

What's up with your GUI? I just was looking at your eq pre and post options and was getting confused on the shelving hi/lo pass knobs and the numbers assigned. Then I looked at the current GUI on their site and the pre and post eq now looks different, What also looks different on the current waves one is the compander...instead of hi/lo pass filters they now look like crossover points. What the?

The In/Out Switches are for the VU meter....

Pretty good saturator...what would you say is your best plugin for that really warm smooth tape / tube saturation?

dont see it yet in my waves central... id probably toss a tape plugin before it or use a lpf for all the extra highend that is being added..
