I'm looking for a toolset to do VO on vids and presentations that sounds great and compensates for a less than ideal room acoustic. Now I see they have a Content Creator toolkit - maybe that's best. Damn, I already bought Clarity Vx!

clarity is the best thing i have found to remove light background noise, it just removes or helps reduce background noise from your vocals, like a fan or AC running in the background, seems to reduce the sound of a keyboard being typed on and stuff like that, clarity it does a killer job at normal background noise removal., if you have extreme background nose it will help but nothing will do a super job the content creator kit is nice but the noise suppression thing that has is not as good as clarity IMO, what you need is a good Background noise remover if background noise is a issue, so clarity vx or clarity and a expander would do the job depending on how bad the background noise is .. after that you need a EQ, Compressor and limiter, and if your say S sounds that sound super shrill or harsh a DeEsser. nothing really fixes bad room acoustics except for sound treating the room but you can definitely make things better if your good with plugins.

The content creator toolkit is very nice, The noise suppression thing that comes with is nice and I like it but I don't like it as much as clarity, The Greg Wells voice-centric thing that comes with is pretty cool but it kind of does what it does and you don't have much adjustment, you turn one knob and it doesn't allow you to really dial much in it just does all the work for you and your either going to like the way it sounds or not like the way it sounds after it does what it does, I wish it gave you a little bit more control over the compression and the EQ but overall I think the content creator kit is nice Now if I were going to run a full plug-in chain by waves I would go with clarity first, The q10 equalizer second, probably the CLA2A or the rbox compressor, I like both of those a lot and they're super easy and simple to use, and then I would run a limiter probably the WLM Plus loudness meter with true peak limiter. And if I need it to get rid of the harsh s sounds I might look at Waves sibilance and I would probably put that after the equalizer and before the compressor Another thing you could do is look at a channel strip like shepps omni channel channel, or the SSL EV2 channel strip If I'm running a channel strip I like to use a parabolic EQ first to remove the bad frequencies that I don't want, then I run the channel strip which usually has the most everything else you need, and then I usually run a standalone limiter And depending on if the Chino strip has a DeEsser or not I think shepps omni channel pretty much has all of that built into it except for the noise reduction, if you got that and clarity you would have everything you need to process a voiceover Now there are other companies that make really awesome channel strips as well like the brain works console N channel strip sounds great. I don't know if that's still on sale for 40 bucks or not, normally they won't like $300 for it or something Or you could just buy all separate plugins which is what I normally end up using most of the time. So 1 Noise reduction and or expander if you need it 2. parabolic Eq 3. DeEsser 4. Compressor 5. Limiter That's kind of the standard setup for a voiceover and your editing software probably has some of that stuff built into it, normally it's not as good as separate stuff but I guess it just depends on which editing software you're using and if you like how it works. But there is a lot of options when it comes to plugins and unfortunately you kind of have to try a bunch to find the ones you like you like but the good news is you can always download and demo most plugins before you pay for it. Personally my favorite plugins are fab filter and waves. What I like about waves they're normally more affordable and they're still pretty good.

if that will not let you run vst plugins on it, you may need to look into a vst host software, this should allow you to use your plugins in a live situation, mac comes width one called main stage and i hear its awesome.. not sure what the best one for windows is or exactly how those work.. i have never used one.. but you may need to find a vst host.. im not sure if that would require you to see the ssl sound source as SSL loop back or not, but something along those lines is probably what you need to do.. you may be able to find some other type of way to do this on a google search.. its not something i am super familiar with. i do most of plugins on the video editor or i run them on my streaming software. but you may find some sort of tutorial on this on youtube.. just search how to use vst plugins on cleanfeed or how to use them on skype or voice chat or something like that and you might find some interesting ways to do it that i am not familiar with

I guess he knows something we don't lol, definitely a odd comment for a video about editing your audio. Maybe he doesn't like the company that made the plugins, I just don't know but I definitely do not understand lol
