Vanilla STALKER, hell yeah Well, that mechanic with random ammo is stupid. It should be removed because it adds nothing but frustration. Also it's very weird with damage balance. 9×18 is one shot for the head, but 5.45×39 is 2 or 3. Body shots remained the same from vanilla

We came REALLY long way since then to Escape from Pripyat I tell you what. Maybe to fix that "pseudo mags system" is to put all ammo in stash/body and take it back to reset?

I remember replaying SoC a while back in preperation for STALKER 2 I haven't finished it yet because I feel too lazy for a hell simulator... Edit: I'm too hooked to Anomaly, it's more relaxing. And I ironically wanna play a mod over the original game where I choose not to play with any mods. Am big weird.

Its wild to see the enhancements subsequent games had. SoC seems to have way more of that stagger effect when youre shooting dudes where as far as I can tell CS and CoP dont do that as much and anomaly dudes just be dropping. Going from just playing SoC for a decade cuz it was such a slog, i never had the emotional energy to play the others until recently and they did feel easier to play because of the less frequent staggering and that they dont force you into labs.

Um... Did you forget about the escape ladder on the roof of the military base at Agroprom? It leads out to a hole in the wall opposite from where enemies are coming from, as you might recall. Also, yeah, the cheese reloading punishment is bullshit. At least go the EFP route where you do deliberately load ammo into visible magazines instead, since you can prep yourself and consider the reloading carefully, but be rewarded by acquiring bigger mags.

I did another playthru of this not too long ago. After playing GAMMA for hundreds of hours it feels like a weird fever dream. Other than that I was surprised at how well it still holds up.

at around 15:40, they Only turn Hostile when you engaged conversation with them, either that or game went Spaghetti Code there for a second

Here I am clearing it with a sawed-off like some hobo shmuck.😆 It's interesting to watch someone else play SoC. You're raging at exactly the same areas I did in my latest runs. SoC has always had spongey enemies and frustrating gunplay until the mid-game (usually around the time you slap a scope on something). AHD2023 appears to make things a little easier. Have you tried Autumn Aurora or Radiophobia 3? Both solid modpacks, though Aurora is more faithful to vanilla.

There should be an FPS game that parodies video game logic and lame tropes like aiming over the rear sight instead of through it with the muzzle tilted up, cocking guns with a round already chambered, ditching mags with every reload, leaving folding or collapsible stocks in their storage position for no reason, and all that sort of thing. Wavey, how did you record this. Maybe streaming is different than a game capture but i cannot record SoC video with OBS, it shows black screen. Or you using a different recording software?

My advice to you is to break every single box you come across, it will contain hidden loot, if the mods that you added didn't touch the content of these boxes, also when you reach the wild territory, if you go to the tunnel with the electro anomalies you will find 2 black kites (desert eagles) and ammunition for it near the body of Gordon Freeman.

If you want to kill in 1 or 2 headshot you have to play in master difficulty.

You should've installed the mods that fixes most of the bugs but keeps it vanilla

That magazine mechanic is kind dumb because there's no way your to "unload" those used magazines also, you should've gone master difficulty

Hah theres no way this game was this hard when I played it last at Master difficulty, you definitely did some modding to make it this way eh? Because at Master difficulty youre just as good at killing them as they are at you, should be no bullet sponges.

You should play OGSR at some point, along with oblivion lost remake 3.0 (or 2.5 if 3.0 is too hard)

got the same mod as you but for some reason when first talking with wolf at the start, I get 90 milion rubles, seva and an ak. How to fix it? Cannot find as of why it would be like that. Also its a steam version of stalker but seems to work
