Wavy/Curly Hair Mistakes I Made | Part 2

I wanted to share some mistakes I made when I first started taking care of my Wavy/Curly Hair. You guys know I follow a modified version of CG.
Lookie here sis, sometimes its okay to modify the Curly Girl Method to suit your own needs.
Cowashing isnt typically suited to Indian weather conditions. Finger detangling may not be for everyone. Using a dime size amount of product like you see in most tutorials might not be your best bet. There are so many little things that we could be doing wrong without even realising it.
Listen, if these 'so called mistakes' work for you, go for it. I keep saying that what works for me might not work for you.
The point is, its okay to modify the Curly Girl Method to suit your needs. You can absolutely pick and choose and build a routine that works for you.
If you happen to have made mistakes, I've been there okay.
We all make mistakes.
Progression over perfection ok?
(I heard Robert Welsh say that)

Hi Shree! Thanks for watching! ❤️ So your hair will not look great as soon as you start cgm. I've explained exactly why in my enliven review. Will be uploaded soon. For now maybe it would help if you watched my curly hair journey videos. See where I started and how far I've come. It has footage of month 1 to 12. I'm currently on month 15 of cgm. It may also be possible that you have high porosity hair that struggles with moisture retention and are not using a leave in conditioner thats heavy enough for your hair. Watch my LOG video to see how I make a lighter leave in conditioner work for me. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi Michelle! I just started my CGM journey and your videos help so much. It's really easy to get overwhelmed with all the CGM content out there but you've been an absolute boon! I just wanted to ask, how do I keep my hair when I'm just at home? The side scrunchie thing is nice, but I absolutely detest hair just falling on my neck and shoulders when I'm working, especially with this heat. As for pineapple knot, my knot keeps getting undone and I really don't like the ends of my hair falling on my eyes (I have shoulder length hair) and pineapple buns are not possible with my hair. Is it okay to just make a top knot with a clutcher when you're following CGM?

@MichelleManuel
@MichelleManuel Жыл бұрын
Hi. If you're asking about which comb to use while styling, a wide tooth comb is great. In my case I apply leave in and gel. After which i create my curl clumps. Not before. If you're asking about which comb to use after your hair is dry, (if you have textured hair), it would be best to not comb after your hair is dry. For me a low ponytail is ideal. Wearing a bun or pineapple all the time will cause traction alopecia on the sides of the head. So if you have to keep your hair in a bun, try a loose bun. Make sure there's no pulling on the roots. You can also braid your hair when you're at home.

All of us struggle with definition at the roots. Personally I don't mind the look at all. Maybe you could try root clipping, upside down styling, scrunching more, tighten your plop. @MichelleManuel 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Kiran! Do not worry about following CG or using CG friendly products only. I've said this video after video. The biggest curly girls don't follow CG or use cg friendly products. Just use the same shampoo and conditioner you've always used. Invest in a leave in conditioner. Use a diy gel like aloe vera or flaxseed gel. I bought half a kg of flaxseed for 70 Rs. I always make it a point to speak to brands and explain that their price points are too high. You could do the same. Maybe the issue is that we complain to eachother when we should be expressing our concerns to the brands.
