Waylon Jennings and Buddy Holly grew up about 30 miles from each other in Texas. They found each other playinging around the small Texas towns, and it wasn't long until Buddy shot into the national spotlight - and he took Waylon with him. These two guys were on their way to musical stardom, until Buddy's life was cut short in a deadly plane crash. This is the story the friendship between Waylon Jennings and Buddy Holly.

Waylon felt terrible for so many years about the buddy holly crash, looking back though, had it not happened, we probably wouldn’t have had the ultimate legend we had with waylon. Everything happens for a reason, some just don’t make sense.

Yes, Waylon really looked up to Buddy. A lot. He was completely devastated after Buddy's death.
