Sometimes I look up Waylon, Hank, and Merle to remind myself of why I used to love country music.

For the 749 of you that pressed the like button, you are true American patriots. For the three of you that pressed the dislike button. I have news for you. If Waylon were alive today. I promise you he couldnt give a shit less what you think!

Hard, tough, unsentimental Texas-country. Boy, I love this! Loved Waylon even more than Cash in the 70s and 80s. Cash came back with a vengeance later on. Anyhow, those two guys are my top country heroes!

Look, I grew up listening to Waylon and Skynryd and you name it. When Waylon died I cried like a baby. NO I did not know him, but my heart did. So no more bad shit, if you don't like it don't listen to it. But Shooter looks like his daddy so I am hoping for some tunes from him like this. I live my life by some of these songs... and no I don't give a shit what you think about it, or me. Because well, hell, I just don't care... thanks :)

It's funny, because I'm a big fan of punk and old country and Waylons stuff is the best mix of both. You don't even have to speed it up. Throw a little more fuzz on the guitar, drop some junkies behind Waylon instead of the mid-nineties backup singers and you've got one of the best punk songs ever written.

Love, love, love Waylon's style. Boy, what losses country music has taken with the passing of such singers too young. For all the haters about country music now and then, Waylon's music doesn't sound much like what was before him either - String Bean, Hank Sr, etc. Music is always evolving. Just find your niche and hang on to it. It will never come again. I love my country music - All of it!!!!!!!!

The legendary "Ralph Mooney" on the Sho-Bud pedal steel. Known as the best steel guitar player to ever shit behind store bought shoes. This cat was so talented, he co-wrote "Crazy Arms" for the legendary Ray Price and Jerry Lee Lewis back in mid 50's. Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings were both graced to be in the presence of such a legendary talent and have him as their steel guitar player.

Once I mess with your mind, Your little heart won't beat the same. Lord, I'm a ramblin' man, Don't mess around with any ol' ramblin' man. Better not! Well, up in Chicago, I was known as "Quiet Boy, " Yes, I was! Down in Alabama, They call me "The man of joy, " Still do! Well, I'm a ramblin' man, Don't fall in love with a ramblin' man. You'd better move away, You're standin' too close to the flame. Once I mess with your mind, Your little heart won't beat the same. I like Waylon's early stuff, but when the song 'Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way" starts on the RCA Country Legends 2 CD set, you know it's HIS music, not the Nashville sound. I love Chet Atkins too, but the smartest thing he ever did was to give Waylon full artistic license, and man, what a sound.

Agreed.

Music evolves, and I'm not one to moan like some that today's music isn't country. There's some good modern stuff out there (though in some ways it's harder to find, with all the different media outlets versus just radio and TV back then), but I do miss Johnny Cash, Waylon, and others. It's sad to think there won't be any more new songs from them.

HOT stuff! Waylon in classic form with his Mosby covered Tele (it's not painted that way, but has a Tele shaped leather 'case' covering the body of the guitar, made by Mosby Guitars! Elvis and Rick Nelson had similar 'cases' covering their Martin flat tops way, way back!). And that steel guitar guy (goddammit, can't remember his name!) is flawless. Awesome stuff! Hank C...
