I went into the office of a club we were playin' in Portland to get paid for the week. I almost fainted when I saw gallons and gallons of coke on the shelves behind the owner's desk. As I waited for him to come in, the bouncer sauntered in. I KNEW I was going to jail....there I was, sittin' there in that room with all that coke. I read that it was actually only an ounce of coke (27 grams to be exact). Of course, I also read that Waylon used to buy it by the pound or kilo. So, who knows for sure. Maybe it arrived as a kilo, but by the time the DEA agents arrived, they were down to an ounce. Two pounds of coke ($10,000 -$20,000?) is a lot to risk having someone mail it to you. I'm sure everyone speaking in this interview was lit at the time, as well. So, there's probably some mixed memories.
