As an Arsenal fan, I was always so afraid when we played Man U because of this guy. If we lost, it was always him. An absolute monster. Huge respect for Wayne.

Played with some strike partners in his career as-well.. R.V.N , Saha, Teves , Berbatov , Chicharito , Webeck ,R.V.P , Ibrahimovic , Rashford. Rooney made life a lot easier for them and they all fed of his determination. He came up against the best centre-backs and gave them a hard game no dout !

growing up as a Liverpool supporter it was hard at times to appreciate this man's greatness. looking back at it more objectively, one of the best players I've ever witnessed watching.

He is still underrated and it blows my mind. Yes, as a teenager, he was amongst the most exciting talents in the world but he never dropped far beyond that level. He was always top 10 in Prem the whole time he was playing seriously when some stars came up and left. If Wayne Rooney played football right now, we’d debate who’d be the better signing between him and Kane. Kane does more for getting the ball in the net but Rooney does a lot more in stopping it going down the other end and switching it. He would be Peps best choice for a CF/ST. Can score and assist goals but can cover players, play across the whole forward AND midfield line, can get back and win the tackle successfully, great hold up play, fantastic from set pieces.

When he played as an out and out striker, he showed his class. But he and Sir Alex recognized that United were a better side with him playing behind a number 9. An incredibly selfless player when he was on the pitch, and he could track back as well. One of the best footballers I've ever seen. At his peak, I'd have put him third best in the world

Rooney is/was my all time favorite player, he had everything you could want in a player, skill, speed, physicality, aggression, desire, hunger. All things that are sadly lost on the current collection of wasters currently stealing a living at United.

Prime Rooney was a beast. Goalscorer, passing, assister, CAM, Striker, Winger, Cental midfielder, Defensive midfielder. Modern Ruud. Managers after Alex played him in too many positions and that did cut his career short and hamper him. But Rooney's ability for all us who have watched him, will never be underappreciated

One of England's finest for sure and under different manager his generation of team would have gone on to doo soo much more allways in and around it just never had that bit extra take it that bit further internationally but for club was a constant runner and scored some really important goals

It may seem stupid to be proud of something like this, but I'm proud that in an era when almost every Man United fan liked Ronaldo more than him, he was my favourite player (and still is my favourite of all time). Loved his game and always tried to play like him. Miss the good old days.
