I'm with you on FRN. I'm also always telling people my reasons are purely subjective. It has the potential to be the strongest, most durable material on the planet, but I hate how it looks and feels. If I don't like the look and feel, I won't carry it. I'll even pay the increased price if it means I can have the same knife with at least G10.

I love when designers get creative with names like DD does with their evil spirit theme -it reminds me of when muscle cars all had cool names, now the best we get is a standard or old name but with a unique trim like the Hellcat, Yellow Jacket, etc.

Nice list. Kind of surprised the Centros was so low but more surprising was the Kershaw Bareknuckle in 20CV and Kershaw Link in 20CV not even being on the list. The value proposition on those knives is so high, especially on the Bareknuckle.

I agree with most if your list and sure it would be easy to load it with cjrb,civivi, and a few more. Yellow jackets are not like honey bees or even honey badgers. That Kizer justice is intriguing I'm going to check it out . I was waiting for the code4 to make an appearance and if I may add a couple of honorable mentions First would be the kershaw link in 20cv for 80 dollars and 2nd the buck vantage pro small and/or large s30v for 80 dollars also.

Been waiting for a video like this forEVER! I finally have a video to show people just getting into knives but don't want to break the bank. Just showed this video to my friend and he definitely thinks the yellowjacket is the best on this list, but we've been debating whether yellow jacket is 2 words or one!

Some people are fans of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, but in western Pennsylvania we are Steelers fans. I love the colors.

I love that there’s a video with so many options. I think that the SOG Terminus XR in S35VN and carbon fiber deserves a high spot on this list, especially if you give it the Shabazz treatment. Surprisingly, the D2, G-10, $54 version comes better tuned out of the box. Oh, and obviously- Yellowjacket.

Been looking at an Oni recently and super pumped to see it in your vids. Fun story about a Yellowjacket, one stung me once in the ear while I was a kid about to got to sleep.

I can honestly say that with regards to fixed blades 2 of the best knives I own are the Tops Cat and Tops Saw knives. These knives are not the most famous but hold one and you will understand what good construction is. Kershaw along with Emerson has some nice models. Talking about Real Steel the Terra is one a beast.

I have modus from in the pocket. Amd I love it. Its my beater and I love it. It might be because kenny gave me it but action is great sharpens well bevels are good. Thin enough grind. Great piece

I'm surprised that the CIVVI brazen did not make the list, but I do see that saviti captured about 20% of your overall recommendations. I think you did a really nice job with the diversity and type of knives and appreciate your time and effort to make this very informative and useful video. I keep seeing the same knives and models over and over again regardless of the reviewer for those that make the best of lists. I think I paid about $50 for my Brazen model in the CIVIVI action is truly one of the best. Thanks again and take care.

I just found the air lite tanto on Amazon for $57 and change. Many of these knives just seemed to be average looking to me there were only a couple that stood out and caught the eye.

I bought a Casio G-Shock , black with a little yellow on it, didn’t think I would like the yellow but couldn’t pass up the clearance price, once I got that “ Yellow Jacket “ on wrist I came to love it! Sometimes you have to step outside your comfort zone and try something different.

That Kubey 203 is my favorite small knife and is in my pocket a lot of the time even when I'm wearing my yellow jacket.

As my friend Slicey Dicey says the Air-Lite is much more knife than the sum of its parts. After a big sell off of knives I still have around 60 left. Among them CRK’s TRM’s ZT’s etc the air lite made it into my pocket and stays there a lot more than the others. If you know how to sharpen take it down to 17° and you will have the ultimate EDC beater knife. It’s an amazing stroke of luck and brilliant design.

Hi I own the Steel Will Modus knife. I can honestly say the Cut Jack is better. The Modus is kind of difficult to sharpen. The Cut Jack holds a better sharpening!

2 years ago I got stung by a yellow jacket followed by 20 of his friends. Great pick at 15. Damned Design makes wonderful items.

Ganzo/Firebird? Maybe you haven't heard of them - they are not a huge name but they make a great EDC. I like their automatics so much that when I found some left being sold on an Austrian website I bought everything they had but one design. As far as I can tell they are no longer making the automatics. The non-auto can be found on Amazon and for EDC they are great and the prices make it easy to pick up a couple at a time. Every single one of the automatics I bought were perfectly centered and only one had a hard button open - the rest were like butter....

Great list! have 3 of the knives on this list, the Incite, Code 4 and the Justice. Out of those 3, I like the action, balance and action of the Justice the best. Kizer nailed it.

in summer camp my friend got stung by a yellow jacket on his eyelid and he walked around proudly all week with a huge swollen eyelid. childhood summer camp memories.

My favorite sub $100 knife is the Kershaw Bareknuckle. Great action and feels like a more expensive knife. Love the blade shape and the fit and finish is awesome. Also it's slim and light so it carries great. I actually really like Spyderco's frn and the frcp especially the translucent blue. Not going to say you aren't entitled to your opinion though.

Gotta agree, the FRN turns me off. But I don’t like it period. It just makes blades feel cheap to me, and if I’m dropping more than 50 bucks, G10 or Aluminum are a minimum before I’ll even consider it. Over 50? Forget it

I got stung by a YELLOW JACKET at a Halloween festival in an apple orchard back in '89!! Hasn't stopped me from going back! LOL!

The best 2020 budget knife is the Terminix by S.O.G. The only criticism is that they should have provide a Terminix with better steels and handle for example S30V and a descent Micarta handle.
