Hi, I do like your channel and thanks for the knowledge sharing and procedure de demonstration! Possible to have one episode to talk “dual FMC fail”? I am kind confused with the usage of back up NAV function and have no clue how to handle this scenario step by step! Cheers

Very knowledgeable tutorial. Can you explain what will happen to the thrust levers when the A/C stalls? Will they still rev up to TOGA if A/T is off?
@waypointsaviation
@waypointsaviation 10 ай бұрын
Hello, Thanks, Yes, if you enter a stall while the Thrust Levers are in the "IDLE" position they A/C will put it into Alpha-Floor mode and then TOGA LOCK locking the Thrust in maximum power until the recovery from the stall is recovered and Pilot manually disengages it re-engages the thrust properly. This can be seen in this video... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g9p0lcilyrOccmQ.html

Hi! Thanks for the video just one question that i got. If i disconnect the autothrust and i am managing the thrust manually and put the lever back to climb detent, does it activate the autothust back or i still have manual control? Thanks for your answer👌
@waypointsaviation
@waypointsaviation 8 ай бұрын
Hi, If you disconnect the Auto-Thrust and put the Levers back in the CL detent the Auto-Thrust remains off unless you reengage it on the FCU by pressing the A/THR button. If you want to get the auto thrust back using just the levers the trick would be to push the thrust levers all the way to toga and then back to CL and will engage the AutoThrust automatically Hope this helps :)

I've always been curious about manual thrust mode in the airbuses. Thank you! One question though, even if you lift the reverse locks in air, doesn't it prevent the levers from being pulled back into positive reverse thrust?
@waypointsaviation
@waypointsaviation 4 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yes, the onboard computers use an array of sensors of systems to let the A/C know that the A/C is not on the ground therefore pulling the thrust levers into Reverse detent would only result in putting the Engines in Idle and not into reverse. Once you're on the ground and the system detects wheels on ground it then allows the reversers to activate and deploy.

Hi there, Do you have a vidéo where you're disconnecting the autothrust for approach,, i.e landing with autothrust off?

You demonstrated that once ATHR is off, you are able to set manual thrust between Idle and CLB detent. However, if ATHR is off, what will happen if you do go to CLB/FLXMCT/TOGA detents? I understand what happens when ATHR is on but not when it is off?
@waypointsaviation
@waypointsaviation 6 ай бұрын
Once the ATHR is off putting the Thrust levers in CLB would be considered the equivalent of 100% N1 in terms of the Trust position.

What happened when you pulled back the thrust levers while in the air? Doesn't the system prevent to do that? I hope the thrust remained at IDLE when you did that... 😅
@waypointsaviation
@waypointsaviation 10 ай бұрын
Hello, Yes, if you bring the Thrust levers back to IDLE the system turns off the Auto-Thrust and the engines will throttle back to Idle power, but if you put the thrust levers into Reverse while in the Air, Nothing will happen, the system will prevent the reversers from opening. Airbus went to great lengths to stop pilots like me from doing that in the Air! 🤣

Hi, when you need to put the engines at 50% N1 for takeoff, where do you place the thrust levers? I've noticed you set the levers by the "T" in A/THR, if that makes sense (Between Idle and the Climb Detent). Is it always by the "T" or "H"?
@waypointsaviation
@waypointsaviation 10 ай бұрын
Hey Pablo, Generally, we wouldn't look at the letters for reference but rather at the N1 gauge on the ECAM to make sure we're setting it to 50% correctly, you could use the letters as a rough estimate guide but using the engine instruments is the best professional way to go! :)

Excellent video, very instructive and well explained. How the two thrust levers are interconnecting ? are they mechanicaly connected and locked or are they free to move separatly at any time ? In case they are free to move separatly, what's happen if one thrust lever in move differentiently for the other one.
@waypointsaviation
@waypointsaviation 5 күн бұрын
They are free to move separately, moving the thrust differently will cause asymmetric thrust causing the aircraft to yaw.

Many Thanks. So , If not properly applied during TO for example, this may consequently generate severe directional control problem.

What will happen if we turn off A/THR and levers are in climb detent and aircraft's speed is in selected mode (lower speed than climb detent will provide)??
@waypointsaviation
@waypointsaviation 10 ай бұрын
Hello, As depicted in the Video, if you leave the Thrust levers in the "CL" detent and switch off the Auto-Thrust, The Engine power will be set to wherever the "Position" of the thrust levers are which in CL would be around 96+ % N1. With Auto-Thrust (ATHR) OFF dialing a speed in selected would mean nothing cause that would need ATHR to be ON to function. Hope this makes sense
