That’s not all the way true. I’ve been into the Chinese music industry for quite a while now. Even though people like to say that the requirement is to sing live or even say that’s it’s illegal, otherwise groups get banned is pretty false. Groups and artists lip sync there on a daily basis, that doesn’t mean that I doubt there live vocal abilities. But this is not an example of live vocals, but prerecorded vocals.

​@@makeitright3810 Rising Land just released the directors cut of this OMY performance. This is definitely live vocals. I'm 100% sure this is live vocals because Xiaojun didnt dance to the last chorus part. He did his high note instead. The example of prerecorded vocals is their performance on New Year's Eve Gala. In that performance, you may notice Xiaojun danced to the last chorus. So i believe that was prerecorded vocals. But this performance on Rising Land, it's definitely live based on directors cut.

i hate to break it to you, but the part of the audio you´re referring to is playback, it's the same audio that was used for their Showcase Live Stage in GuangZhou, and probably will be used again, SM seems to always use a playback version of songs in situations where the standard practice is to just use the track recording, even when it's doubled with live singing. Their mic's might be on, i can hear at least some of their voices faintly in the background, Yangyang's is the loudest cause he's basically shouting during some parts, but it's still hard to distinguish. The Tencent award show performace was fully live, though, and untuned and probably unedited (cause that can be done, even on the initial performance nowadays) but you guys have unrealistic expectations because you have been fooled into thinking that clearly tuned and edited playback is completely live, so you can't even appreciate it. It wasn't their best live performance of Back To You (in my opinion that's the one in the vlive they did when it came out), and they seemed like they were maybe being a little cautious (i have a theory that their voices were too loud in their in-ears), but it was a decent performance nonetheless, even though the heavy echo effect was a questionable choice. It makes me so sad that artists get negative feedback like this when they finally do a proper live performance, cause i always pray for them to happen, and they are so rare, i'm so tired of the youtube shows they go on where it's live but tuned.

​​@@estherbunny I could be wrong but they sound live to me. The pops in their mics, some imperfections in their timing to the background music parts, little things like these.. I'm aware though that their individual mics are on only during their parts if they're singing and how some members could be singing live while some could just purely lipsync. Also backtracks are usually used on parts where they all sing together and dance more heavily like during chorus. I don't want to overanalyze things but they certainly sounded more live here than in their other performances. Also, this choreo isn't so heavy and the vocals are almost equally divided so it allows them to sing live. About Xiaojun and Kun's back to you performance, I didn't say it was bad. I said the audios weren't good and that it wasn't their best performance. My expectations aren't unrealistic especially cuz they weren't dancing. Unrealistic expectations mean expecting them to sing perfectly while they dance heavily. I came from a place where belting and almost perfect singing is the norm for singers when they are purely singing live and not doing anything else so I don't know what's unrealistic about my expectations.

@@TTL-re1yn There are rumors that Winwin will start filming a costume drama mid-January. Ten has his fancons in February-April and solo in February. Also, he's mentoring a survival show which starts broadcasting February and the finale will probably be in April. At the moment the other members seem to be free, but I don't think they'll do a world tour without ten since he's the most popular internationally

@@kiyoko7230 Thank you for this update. I really hope that it is true that WW will be starting a costume drama soon. Also, I hope that when WayV gets their world tour which is long long overdue, that it will be a complete group not like the Phathom World Fanmeet tour. Also, since WW was never included in WayV subunit project and Hendery never got to debut under one, I also hope that while WW is still in Korea that they will finally get a chance to be the final subunit to debut. Also, hoping that all members get to do personal activities as well if nothing is planned for WayV until the 2nd half of the year.

I think the other members look better but just my opinion.
