LOL! too funny :) I used to watch Bob Ross now and again when I was a kid. He had a magic way about him and the way he saw the world. I will take that as compliment for sure. Thank you for tuning in friend!

Actually have owned mine since William came out with them. Some might not like this knife. However, it works great in extreme cold weather. It doesn't snap like 1095 steal does above the arctic circle. The spear point is perfectly centered for making bow drill divots. I did do a few modifications on my own. Now and has been my absolute everyday use knife.

Thank you so much brother and thanks for tuning in! I use standard imovie for all my videos. I have considered upgrading to a more flexible editing software but I have learned imovie so well, it's hard to change :) I really liked this knife and I think it makes a great survival style knife or OTO. Thanks again for tuning in!

Outstanding video review . Your channel is one of the first that I subscribed to when I first started watching YT . I can't stand YT knife channels that post 15 min. + videos and never cut anything with the knife ( maybe a sheet of paper ). You do it right ! Great technique . Glad to see another vid. The knife is great as you clearly show . A beauty .

Thank you so much for all your support Tom! I truly appreciate all your kind words! I believe if I am going to be able to give a good review the key is to show the knife in the field and how it actually performs it's intended duties. I only regret that I can't show knives processing game very easily on YT. I don't always have the opportunity when filming and it is frowned upon heavily on videos. I figure people can look at the designs and see those capabilities based on the profile to some degree. I hope to do other knife reviews over time as I have a few more waiting their turn :) Thanks again and take care my friend!

I've seen some reviews of certain products lately that have been very disappointing, one was a tree tent that the person had never actually even used! So it didn't surprise me given the quality that you apply to your craft that you did not only a great comprehensive review but you gave the knife justice, nice one, great video, many thanks.

THIS blade is knife perfection.... I think I like this one the most. What is your favorite model? If you could only pick one. ( and I understand that you love all of them, and I don't blame you)
@blackhatbushcraft
@blackhatbushcraft 2 жыл бұрын
LOL, that is indeed a tough one! I would say that if I had to pick just one, as of right now, it would be the Woodsman Classic. I say this because it has a very usable tip for fine carving but yet is big enough to do fire prep work. It is nimble enough for food prep and skinning if needed. It's just a well balance classic woods knife design. With that said, I am so glad I haven't had to only choose one 😀 I use my Nessy daily, the Jr Woodsman is still a favorite too. For other brands, I use my PKS Kephart XL often and my Morakniv Kansbol and classics quite regularly. I do switch things up often for better or worse but I always come back to these models. I hope that helps!

GNK is awesome to work with! Excellent review Matt! I find my AEB-L WCSK has a little better edge retention than my 3V Blackbird but both edges are just as quick to recover with either my Easylap or V. Mini steel. And you are right, learning to use a knife to the best of it's abilities is important since I really don't want to take a dozen knives for each type of task with me on extended trips!

I truly appreciate that my friend! I try to only review things that I would gladly buy myself and that I would spend my hard earned money on. That way I can be totally honest about how I feel and only call attention to products I own or would use wholeheartedly. Fix n wax incident? Hmm I must have already forgot all about that? :) Take care and keep up the good work brother!

Thank you so much Robert! I appreciate your kind words and you tuning in. That is a tough question for sure and one that may get a different answer depending on the day :) I will give you my top 3 lol, The JR Woodsman, The Woodsman Classic, and last but not least, The Nessy. I carry the Nessy most of all because it is smaller and comfortable for daily use but in the woods, I usually carry along a larger belt knife unless I am carrying an axe. There are still other WC designs out there that I haven't been able to work with yet so I look forward to seeing what William comes up with next :) Take care Robert!

Excellent knife review do you think you might be able to do a Great Northern knives Alaskan Bush tool knife review it doesn't seem like nobody has done a informative one showing what it should do what it can do and what it shouldn't and won't do?? Because it is a beautiful looking knife but no real capability information

It is a possibility...I am friends with Jeff from Great Northern so when we talk again I will mention it. I haven't handled it in person yet but it is an interesting looking tool indeed. From what I remember it is sort of like a small kukuri. With it being a WC I feel confident in the quality :) Thank you so much for your time, interest and kind words Edward!

what is the name of your favorite WC Knives and what are the reasons? thanks
@blackhatbushcraft
@blackhatbushcraft 4 жыл бұрын
I honestly have 3 favorites currently. The JR Woodsman, the Woodsman Classic and the Nessy. The Nessy is a light duty, daily carry type knife. It excels at carving and whittling, food prep and general purpose work. The JR Woodsman is an great medium duty field knife and does almost any chore I need done in the woods. It has a fine tip for detail work, a belly that can handle food prep quite well and a scandi section with a subtle hook that performs great when carving and notching for camp implements. The Classic is WC's version of the iconic bushcraft knife made famous by the late Mors Kochanski, the Skookum Bush Tool. It is renowned for true bushcraft and with a subtle constant curve, it slices and carves flawlessly. All three knives have handles that perfectly fit my hands and make them comfortable and manageable for long sessions of working in the field. I have videos on both the JR and the Nessy if you would like to see them further. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ip6Pn9OSq7rTnZ8.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z7xdbJiixsyuomw.html
