WD Austerity 90711 at Keighley and Worth Valley Railway Autumn Gala 2015

Күн бұрынWar Department Austerity 90711 (weathered and renumbered for this event from 90733) at the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway Autumn Gala 9th October 2015. This 2-8-0 8F was built to a Riddles design at the Vulcan Foundry Newton le Willows in 1945 as part of the war effort. It is seen here leaving Keighley and then leaving Oxenhope. After a freight movement at Keighley, there is departure filmed on board. Finally it is seen approaching Oxenhope at some speed.

Probably one of the most unglamorous locomotives ever made. Often grimy and with a unique clanking noise. But that was the whole attraction !

About as close as you can get to seeing a rundown 1960s-style steam loco without a time machine!

I like how that they gave 90711 a grimy appearance! It makes it look more accurate!

I love it when in the preservation era they either allow a loco to get grimes ( ones that look nice grimy not like Lady of Legend ) or cosmetically paint a loco to look grimy

Scenes look way more authentic with weathered locos.

They did well with the dirty look on her and looks good! Did they just not clean her?!

Reasonable attempt at “weathering” the loco, however the not so subtle limescale streaking, looks like someone has obtained a can of white emulsion paint and dribbled it down the boiler and tender filler. Spoils it really .

Understand the weathering but spoilt it really.
