Recorded in the club atmosphere of the Kleiner Sendesaal at the WDR Funkhaus / Cologne (June 2019).

Another wonderful concert by a favorite jazz band. Spectacular arrangements, inventive soloists and a pleasing array of pieces, performed by the best of the best. Appreciated works written by Karolina and was especially struck by the unison interlude around 39 minutes. And that sweet solo by Billy Test...All good. Danke schon.

En mi búsqueda de una Big Band tuve la suerte de encontrar esta. La WDR asoma a mi sonosfera y desde el primer instante, desde las primera notas uno sabe que se trata de grandes maestros.

Thank you so much! I actually purchased one CD from Discogs but was only able to locate the single recording. I became aware of this site and the WDR Big Band from KZfaq in America. I am a fan of Jazz music and love the big band sound which I grew up with and my parents playing their 78 rpm records. I was viewing a Steve Smith (American drummer extraordinaire) video performance and he was sitting in with your band in a studio setting. From there I located you all on KZfaq and have become a very grateful fan ever since. I'll look at the link you shared and see what else I can find to add to my collection, thank you all! @@WDRBIGBAND

T.bone player Klemm is by far best jazz soloist on Shorter's one by one, smokes, stays within himself locked in real nice..my kinda jazz player. Tenor guy Heller ain't Brecker but seems to try... lay back man the pyro tech isn't needed
