I’m at Disney now & this explains the drastic change in staff attitude, staff is rude, won’t even look, have to ask strangers which way to go in the cues. It’s like Walmart took over customer service training. I don’t go to Walmart..1 girl working all the pick up at Confectioners bakery, I just want a cookie, it looks like the line for Tron.

And that is exactly what the leftist radicals is like. They think of themselves as enlightened but they are in total darkness. They think of themselves as kind, but they are rude as the Devil. We might just have to face the very real possibility that Disney is dead. This leftist management kept Walt's legacy and ways around as long as it was making them billions, but now they are so bold in their wickeness that they think they can throw it off and still make millions, and they are so arrogant that they maintain their self-deception even with their growing list of massive failures, all of which demonstrate their total incompetence.

So sad. I remember how they'd been trained to be on-stage, smiling, happy, polite and helpful. Even if it was part of the show, it was nice as a guest. Then again, I'm seeing a lot more about how guests are behaving more and more, being rude, ignoring rules, running wild. It must be tough.

My daughter was accepted into their summer college internship program. They required them to be vaccinated and my daughter is not. She had a religious exemption at school and applied for one with Disney. They told her they would have to interview her about it. They called her and absolute GRILLED her about her religious beliefs. They asked her all kinds of questions about the Bible for over 30 minutes. My daughter went to Catholic school K-12 so she answered them all but she said they were very confrontational and basically started the interview off accusing her of lying. In the end they offered her a position and though my daughter had dreamed of this for almost 10 years she told them, “No thanks, you’ll just give me some shit job behind the scenes because you don’t like that I’m not vaccinated”. (I was so proud of her) They destroyed another fan and potential employee over COVID BS.

Remember when Disney = Fun? When Auntie Kai taught hula at the Poly? When Off Kilter played in Canada at EPCOT? When EPCOT was fun education? One of my most treasured Disney moments was riding the monorail and there was a older gentleman cast member on our car whose name was Bobert. He had worked at Disney since opening, and shared so much Disney history with us during our ride. That was when I learned about MAPO and the monorail history. That memory will stay with me forever. The cast members made Disney what it once was. I'm sure Bobert, whose last name started with a Z, is long retired by now, but Bobert, YOU were the Disney difference.

I’ve personally spoke with a former HVAC specialist who worked at the parks pre 2020. Most employees were furloughed and when Disney needed them back, they refused to pay their previous salary. Even though they weren’t “fired”, they made them all start back at square one. The past few years I’ve been attending the parks, I’ve noticed the quality of cast members has fallen to a bare minimum standard. No decorum, rude, no crowd experience, act like you’re inconveniencing them. This is a problem they’ve created for themselves. (I’d like to say there are still many exemplary cast members, but they’re sadly overshadowed by how many sub par employees are being tossed into the mix)

Disney Cast members are now the equivalent of Walmart employees when it comes to enthusiasm when it comes to guest relations and customer service. It was the individual cast members that made the experience so special. My very first trip, we went to Casey's corner for hotdogs and fries to watch Spectramagic. My ex-mother in law spilled her soda. The porter came by and as he was cleaning the mess, he asked her what soda she had, which I thought was a joke. As I was waiting in the line to get her another soda, he came out with a replacement soda for her. Those types of people no longer work there. And the change came before the pandemic. I am good friends with the former concierge of the Grand Floridian. He left for Universal because the morale had become so bad. It was his dream job and it became a nightmare.

One of the things that truly made Disney parks magical, is that the clients (guests / customers) were always treated with the utmost respect, and the park employees (called cast members) would go WAY above and beyond expectations to make the experience wonderful. When I was in business school we even had a case study about the street sweepers at the park and how they were seen as the most important cast members because they typically had the most interaction with the guests - asking directions or questions since they were the most accessible. It didn’t matter if the guest was a Karen, a fanboy, a shill, a Republican, or even if they were white male with a KZfaq channel. The intent was to help them have a wonderful experience and exceed their expectations. If that same perspective was brought to their social media teams, fan-interacting employees, and content creators… what an epic impact that could make in their business today!

Well one was was their "mandate" Second was the use of the "pandemic' as a justification to lay off, and then hiring replacements instead of bringing back the original. Third is low wages for the front facing cast, guaranteeing a regular turnover. Fourth is not promoting people already there, instead hiring their superiors from outside. That both swaps people out and also makes aspiring people want to leave. One race+ gender combo in particular are never promoted.

For many years now we have seen a shift in cast members attitudes toward guests, they are impatient and rude. We are low maintenance people my husband and I and we have been met with indifference and/or flat out ignored in some instances. For example, while going through the line at the Boardwalk Deli, the woman at the register didn't greet us and wouldn't even look at us. She looked over her shoulder while carrying on a conversation with a coworker as I placed our order. It was really off putting. If this is the future of Disney hospitality then we're going elsewhere.

I went into Disney's Orlando offices several years ago to interview for an IT related position. I was in a conference room with three Disney employees. They were extremely guarded and secretive when I tried to ask basic questions about their computer server operations, questions that were directly related to the position I was interviewing for. My questions would have been normal and expected by any other potential employer and would have been interpreted as thoughtful and insightful from a job candidate. One of the Disney employees informed me that my questions bordered on "industrial espionage" and said they would not be providing any such information. I had performed similar computer server work for NASA, so the Disney folks knew I wasn't just some guy off the street trying to spy on their operations. The entire experience was creepy...and needless to say...I did not end up working for Disney. This interview occurred well before all of Disney's woke BS. I'd never be interesting in applying these days, as I'd be too embarrassed to admit to friends where I worked. NASA is far cooler than Disney anyway.

My first experience at Disney was in the 1990 when the magic Kingdom still had the sky ride. The cast members had a different vibe back then, I would call it eager to please. This made an impression that made you feel at home amongst your favorite family members. I am a DVC member and annual pass holder and have brought my kids to Disney World as a parent since then. I would say that I saw a gradual slip to cordial then polite over the years and now it not uncommon to run into a cast member with a poor attitude such as indifferent or even indignant. I can say that some of this has been cleaned up in the last year, but I would like to see a return of customer service from polite to friendly again. Only one of my 2 children, who are now adults, still enjoys going to these parks.

The more you delve into DEI the more you find out that none of the terms in that acronym adhere to their historical definitions. The ‘D’ and ‘I’ in DEI is all about controlling the workforce. In ‘diversity’ they have created a hiring practice that allows them to employ a workforce of different ‘flavors,’ cosmetically, but all of the same world view. ‘Inclusion’ is about creating so-called ‘safe’ workspaces, and the thing that scares the crybaby employees most is anyone with opinions that do not conform the the socialist world-view. So they can send ‘offending’ workers up for DEI indoctrination; if that doesn’t take - they fire them. As for the replacement - well they just go back to the ‘D’ process. D&I work together to support their ‘equity’ process, which is social equity as defined in identity politics. Disney is lost. It will never come out of this tail spin because it only takes a handful of commissars in key positions to ‘deconstruct’ the culture of an organization and destroy it. As for the stockholders? They’re screwed because Disney doesn’t give a damned about them, they only care about the stakeholders. And their stakeholders are the criminal international investment firms pushing ESG. They are both global socialists and global fascists, which is a horrendous mess.

He had developed feet health issues, and after the pandemic, they refused to accommodate his feet health issues and refused to move him to a post where he did not have to stand/walk for his entire shift. He had many, many commendations for his guest service. He also had a long history of working opening attractions and establishing procedures for the new attractions. He felt he HAD to quit because he could no longer perform the job he was assigned without being in substantial pain. He is also conservative, but hid his political views. He repeatedly talked about how much the culture had degraded and was less focused on guest services. He went through some tough times, but finally has a good work-from-home job and is much happier.

The presentation highlighted an upcoming lineup of shows and movies with adult themes and humor, showcasing a strategic shift from Disney's traditionally family-oriented image. The aim was to promote a unified, diverse portfolio that spans a wide array of entertainment offerings." Seems to me Iger is hellbent in transforming the company until it's unrecognizable. Not surprising things are changing in the parks as well.

It's legal to have a large scale "layoff"...and then pick and choose the liberals you want to hire back...rather than just looking to individually fire the conservative types. The latter scenario would be discriminatory. Their strategy is hard to prove when they fire people, en masse.
