Back in 2020, Eamon & Bec bought this rundown cabin in the Canadian wilderness to make a family home and create a cozy home base. We are so proud of how far we've come with this (mostly) DIY project and couldn't be happier to be raising a beautiful new baby out here in the woods. Is there honestly anything better than being in nature, getting your toes in the dirt and swimming in Canadian fresh water lakes? The only dilemma is that this cabin is barely big enough for the the 3 of us.... let alone the many guests and additional family members that we like to host as well.

As a fellow cancer survivor, I love seeing Bec and her belly grow and be so healthy. I unfortunately am older and also had to have a hysterectomy because my cancer was hormone positive. But, I have 2 beautiful girls and will wait for granbabies to spoil one day. You both bring me joy, and love being on this journey with you both.

Im so happy to see her baby bump! I am also a cancer survivor. Uterine cancer, a hysterectomy and almost 3 years cancer free. I also cant have hormones so menopause has been lovely.

Keep the window fan! It is so nice in the summer to have that fresh night air coming in especially in a loft space where it can be hot and humid. I'm not a fan of air-con while I sleep, I want outside air and turn off the air-con and turn on my window fan. Just a suggestion:-)

Its the only time in my life really where I had short hair for a while, while my daughter was learning "dont pull mummy's hair it hurts" .......

I highly recommend waterproof mattress covers if you don’t use them already as they prolong the life of a mattress for obvious reasons. They make ones for pillows too! 😊 I also highly recommend if you don’t already doing enrichment activities for meal times with Oso. Obviously he gets plenty of stimulation outside but it would definitely help on days when busy schedules get in the way to keep him problem solving and entertained. Thanks for another amazing video, from one home reno’er to another.

That storage space under the eaves reminds me of a funny story. When I was a young mother we lived in a house that had the sloped ceilings like that with storage that was about a foot higher than you have.We kept a lot of the kids toys in there and they used it like a playhouse. One day, I could not find my son, he was two or three at the time. I searched everywhere, including the playhouse. We were about to extend the search outside of the house when I finally found him asleep in a wooden box full of stuffed toys. Reminded me of the scene in e.t. where he was hiding in plain sight in the closet

Absolutely love the dynamic between you two, Eamon and Bec... But the hilarity is magnified ten fold by Oso's personality! I feel like if there is such a thing as previous lives, Eamon and Oso were best friends who relentlessly messed with each other! (See the 25:47 mark for example.. the play bow like "make me get out, mister!" is hilarious) I wish Oso could talk, because the banter would be epic! Hahaha.. love your videos!! To maximize the space in the upstairs area, you could always install drawers along the bottom of the storage space you opened up and put open shelving above that... for baby to store clothing in drawers and toys and books above. Then you won't have to have as much closet or bureau space.

Those window fans are life savers. We used them for 20+ years in NH until we finally put in HVAC. We still use the fans, and rarely use the HVAC, but sometimes people prefer it.
