I have a 2019 loaded ultimate 2.0T Santa Fe, everything but the AWD. It has been a great vehicle with enough grunt to tow a 19’ boat I just bought. I bought because it didn’t have a 3rd row that I would never use. No problems at 30K, I also routinely get 28 mpg at 73mph all day long(without the boat!). Hyundai did a great job on this mid size SUV w/o a 3rd row seat.

I bought one of these used (7000 miles) 5 months ago and I just LOVE it. This is the third Santa Fe I've owned and, I must admit, the reason I bought my 2005 was because of the warranty. The best warranty in the business, but I didn't have ANY problems at all with my 2005. It does give you some piece of mind though. I bought a 2013 Santa Fe, this time I bought it for the looks and the quality. I only had one problem with it, at 44,000 miles, it had to have an oxygen sensor replaced so it didn't cost me a dime to have it fixed. In 2019, I had a problem with it with the door locks not working. It was going to cost me about $800 because it was out of warranty at the time. I wound up buying a 2019 Kia Sorento and that was a big mistake. Even though it's the "companion" vehicle to the Santa Fe, it can't hold a candle to it. The ride was "mushy" compared to my '13 Santa Fe. I also had to have some work done to it that was under warranty, but the dealer really did a terrible job in getting it approved and worked on. I decided to look for a newer Santa Fe and found my 2020 at a dealership. It is a Limited model with the 2.0 Turbo and has all the bells and whistles I need and like. I am very impressed with the safety features, number one being that blind spot camera that comes on when the turn signals are activated. That is VERY cool!! The "surround" camera that shows a composite of all cameras whenever it is placed in reverse is great as well. I've commented on a couple of these review videos and this guy didn't talk about a feature that some may like, but it's not a big deal to me. It's the "Stop and go" feature. It activates by default, so you have to push the "off" button in the center console for it to be turned off. This feature is for when you stop the car, like at a stop light, the engine cuts off, supposedly to save fuel. Then, when you take your foot off the brake, the engine starts and you drive off. I am not planning on using it because I doubt that it will save that much in gas to offset the wear and tear on the components such as the starter and A/C as many times as I stop at a red light. I love the Santa Fe and recommend it.

Just an edit to my original post. It's been about 13 months now since I bought it and it is still my favorite car. However, a couple of LITTLE things that I hope that Hyundai might improve on. He mentioned the gas fill door. I am REALLY disappointed in that. It's very flimsy and it takes me a few times to get it to fully close. I have had it where, after driving it for a while, it's actually not closed tight. It will be sagging some and I have to lift it up and shove it close, kind of like he did in the video. Another complaint, a little bigger is the blue tooth voice command. I had a 2013 and it had the voice recognition and it was practically flawless. This one, where I put my iPhone in with my contacts in should work with my voice. It does, sometimes. An example, I'm driving down the road and need to call my daughter. I'll push the voice button on the steering wheel and the voice will ask me what I want. I will say, "Call Daughter (that's the way I have her in my contacts)", and it will search. After about 15 seconds, the voice will come on and say, "Contact not found, please try again". I'll repeat it and the same thing or it might connect. It's very "iffy". I've had to pull over on the side of the road and get my phone and manually call her. That is very frustrating. The same is true with the navigation. I will open the connect screen and say, "Find address in Alabama". It will ask the address, I will tell it, the thing searches and will say, "network not available, enter the address on the address screen". Now, that is aggravating!! The process of doing it on the 2020 is much slower than the 2013 I had. Plus, that "network not available" makes no sense. I may go to my dealer and talk to them about it. Of course, it's not like that every time, which means it's INTERMITTENT which is the worst. Why? Because when you take it to the dealer and try to show it to them, it will WORK PERFECTLY then! AARRGGHH!!! Again, these are things I can live with, I don't use them all the time everyday but I can still recommend this vehicle. OH! I also agreed with him about the sunroof control. My 2013 had a sunroof (or is it a MOONROOF?) and it had two switches, one for the shade and one for the glass. It was much easier to open and close just the shade than the 2020 because with the newer one you do have to move a little quicker to get it. Of course, if you miss it, to get it to do right, you have to start all over again, close the shade, then try to do it right. Sometimes the engineers try to "improve" something that doesn't need improving. "Give me back separate switches or give me death!!"

@@marmac2768 , I'm considering this Santa Fe as a 2nd vehicle. I pay attention to comments by vehicle owners more than reviewers. They invested a lot of money and they drive the vehicles daily. I really appreciate the follow up to your original post. I can understand your frustrations. I had a 2010 Santa Fe Sport 3.5L v6 it served me well. Bought it used from Sept 2019 lasted till Dec 2023. Driver ran a red light and totalled it. So far I'm torn between the Santa Fe and the Ford Edge. The Santa Fe has the edge (no pun intended). Wishing you safe journies!

Heads up also shows the info about your map destination. It reads with an arrow showing how far to the next turn. We got this exact car but in Quartz White. We also have a G80 and frankly it is a toss up as to which one is preferred. The G80 is clearly more luxurious but the Santa fe sits higher and therefore has better visibility. All in all it is hard to beat either of these cars.

We are currently on our 4th Hyundai, husband currently drives a 2018 Sonata Ultimate, I've driven a 2013 Santa Fe Sport 2.0t AWD, sold that and bought a 2018 Tucson Limited 1.6t AWD, by far the worst riding of them all, I now have a 2020 Santa Fe Limited 2.4L AWD. My Sport took me from WA to SoCal to AZ, back to SoCal, then back to AZ, then home to WA, great riding vehicle, my guess is that my 2020 Santa Fe will be as equally enjoyable. The Sonata took me on an emergency road trip from WA to AZ, then 2 weeks later my husband and I did that same trip, only issue was a cracked windshield from a rock that flew up off the roadway. My 2020 Santa Fe will take me to NV next week, really looking forward to seeing how he rides and check out all the cruising features he offers.

The 8" display isn't that small. I mean the 10.25" display on the 21-22 Santa Fe look nicer & help make the Santa Fe look more premium & upscale but this setup has all the audio buttons in one place with the screen & it allows you to still have the climate control screen which the newer Santa Fe doesn't have between the Limited & Calligraphy trims
@marmac2768
@marmac2768 Жыл бұрын
I actually like the smaller display. I am driving, not trying to watch a movie or anything a little smaller is better in my opinion. I also like the way that my 2020 still has separate controls for the A/C rather than incorporating it on the video screen. When I want to change the temp for my A/C, I don't have to "tap and scroll" to get the right temperature screen to come up for me. I have to just turn a knob, so passe'. There are already enough distractions while we are driving so I think that simpler is better.

All other complaints aside, I can attest if you want a durable vehicle you can thrash this is it. I witnessed a couple of dudes in a rental doing hard core off road jeep trails with this model a few years back. Ripped up and bent the rockers, went through water crossings over the top of wheels and even got air born. This was Monache trail in Kennedy Meadows. I can only imagine what happened back at the rental facility......

Hi nice video just to let you know for the fuel door the vehicle must be locked for the fuel door to be locked . During operation and in occupied locked the fuel door will be locked.
@marmac2768
@marmac2768 Жыл бұрын
The complaint I have about the fuel door is that is doesn't just close as it should. I have to literally lift mine up just slightly to get it to seat in the opening. It's like it's sagging or something. Sometimes I have to do it 2 or 3 times before it will finally seat. I asked my dealer the other day when I was having it serviced and he said that was a very common complaint that they get about the Santa Fe. There is nothing they can do about it, it's almost like the door is too heavy for the hinge.

I own the 2019 Santa Fe Limited. Agree that the Mazda CX5 is a better driving experience but you give up lots of room in the back seat as well as the back end. The Mazda rear sight lines are also horrible. Those were the things that helped us decide on the Hyundai. My complaints about the Santa are few but significant. My rear view mirror compass is only accurate half the time. It will say W when you are driving E, etc. If you have cruise control on and do a manual mode downshift the cruise does not disengage. This is very dangerous!. The headlights are so bright that a lot of oncoming drivers will flash their high beams at you which is a literal headache.
@enforcer41
@enforcer41 3 жыл бұрын
I own a 2020 John and can't see the issue with the CC and downshift, if your going uphill and want to preselect a lower gear the cc stays on like all cars. It's only a touch of a button or slight tap on the brake to disengage the cc. It works like every other vehicle i've ever driven.
@johnnyquist2354
@johnnyquist2354 3 жыл бұрын
@@enforcer41 I guess I only downshift to slow down. That's when I think the cruise not disengaging is an issue. It would be a better design to not have to tap the brake or touch the cancel button in this situation in my opinion.
