We are back at the mecca for big air that is the Darkfest farm in Stellenbosch South Africa! The build begins for the world's biggest jumps and craziest riders, who in a months time will be unleashing their bikes on the famous course, including the 110ft jump Tom Isted landed his world record backflip on in 2023. What will go down this year? Only time will tell, but for now we walk round with Theo Erlangsen, South Africa downhill champion and darkfest rider to see the damage the winter rain has done and see what work is needed! What are you guys looking forward to seeing at Darkfest 2024?!

my guess is that it takes a long time to fix up the jumps and get everything organized, so by the time its been a year since the last event they will be ready to go.

The actual reason is that my wife and I are expecting a baby next month so we had to move it forward 😂

The jumps look so dialled last year, the covers have held up really well. There doesn’t seem like much can change to the line to improve it short of building something totally new. One of the best lines of all time.

Please do a speed run with a gopro! You can use the gps data in the gopro to put a speedometer overlayed on the entire video. I think i speak for all of us when i say that this would be amazing, and it really would give us some context on how mad this course is.

@SamReynolds26 ahh awesome! You just need to turn on the gopro first, make sure the gps is on and the gps symbol turns solid when it is locked on. Then in Stickers in the gopro app, you can turn on the speedometer

I hope my comment doesn't start a round of peer pressure and poor judgment 😅. Although, CA, I think, would be the first cameraman to complete a dark fest feature? Jump size, 40+ mph run up, says everything about the true scale. Anyway, good luck, guys!

gopro 6 was great but is 6 years old now and things move on fast, you can still get really nice shots on it though. I mount it under my visor for first person view
