Ivan is finally in the shop for the winter and going to get some much needed attention. After finding a leak which did some damage, I decided to change the floor plan a little and take out the back couch. Renovating the bus is not what I planned to do but it is what is happening!

After relentlessly searching for 3 years I finally scored the bus of my dreams. A 1998 Bluebird 26 footer with a Navistar in-line 6. D466 with 176k miles. A short bus, 26 feet nose to tail. From Texas. No rust. Clean and road worthy. Good tires too.

I will tell you that one of the reasons I tune in to any video you put out, is because you always inspire me to get work done on my own projects. Also, I feel like overall, you're so positive and happy. I've even said to myself, "What would Mike do?" if I feel overwhelmed on a project. The answer is always that you'd just do the next thing, or just get started, and that's always good advice. Whether you're building buses, or cabins, or going sledding or tapping trees, it's always interesting and fun to watch on this channel.

Saw a bus in the Walmart parking lot today and wondered if I would ever see another video from you. Felt psychic when I found this as I scrolled through the list this evening. So glad to see your work again. Thanks for sharing where you are on the river of life. Please do not disappear again!

I will absolutely watch updates even if it contains what you might think is mundane. You're honestly a great narrator. I've always enjoyed the whimsical realness of your channel, the bus and van builds, the great family and friends you have. A regular vlog of all the goings on I'll be certainly watching. I've always loved your channel sir! You'll be perfect fine just narrating and being yourself. -Rich in Nashville

It’s funny that you made this video talking about changes to your future videos , because one of my favorite videos of yours is about the syrup making. I originally came here for watching bus restorations, but I think this channel is much more.

Like I said in a previous comment just watching you film projects getting done is super entertaining and satisfying. I get very bored with no variety vanlife/ buslife content that most other content creators are doing, life is more diverse than that. I never know what venture you're on to next and your work ethic and creativity always inspires me in my daily life and keeps me tuned in. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your life and project accomplishments, I know that has to be difficult while you're trying to get things done. Keep up the great content Mike ✌️

if you put the batteries behind the electrics and move the electric pannel fortward so its next to the rear door you might not need to disassemble that lot and be able to get to by opening the backdoor from the outside , maibe make a small access door under the rearlight on that side works even better as for the waterdamage , most of that will be hidden under the bed , might just cover over the rest with thin plywood and forget about it , as its all intermeshed you might need to take a part a lot of the sturture to remove it and damage a lot of stuff thats still perfectly fine and usable might help to move the deskarea forard so it comes before the bed , the watertank can go under the bed so that opens up the closet currently holding it , think you should make the bedplatform as high as you can withoyt hitting youre head against the ceiling as the space under the bed s way more usabl than the headspace , having the bed closer to the roof likely will keep you warmer as heat rises up , you might need to close the windows up (partially ?) to have some privacy and keep the windows from radiating cold or heat, can paint them black on the inside , put some styrofoam against that and than cover them with a frame and triplex (like a head and footboard) you can probaly sleep sideways in the bus and fit a queensize in that way give you more room in the front instead of an office you could do a big chair that can rotate and has a seatbelt in case you take a passenger along , and have a tabletop you can pull out of the armrest and a powerhookup near it over youre legs to use it as a desk make the driversseat slide back and around for another seat in the "living room " with a small side table , kitchen then toilet/shower next then the edge of the bed alltough you could shower at a campground or truckstop , other side after the big chair with the desk could be a top to bottom double door closet for supplies and clothes with a build in fridge agross the kitchen and again build against the edge of the bed that leaves you a somewat narrow pathway between the kitchen and bathroom on one end and the closet on the other from halfway down the bus towarths the bed (can possibly use the closet door to close the bedroom if you make it wide enough to close against the sidewall of the bathroom ) and an open space with the two big chairs closer to the drivers end and front door

I get what you're saying about the filming thing. I had a van life channel and I found it difficult to film things every day, rather than sitting in my van and chatting at the camera. I've noticed you are always having storage problems. Moving stuff from one place to another. You might want to consider setting up a building for storage, so you can work on things without constantly having to move things from one place to another.

Mike, I assume you don't have a natural gas main running down Route 8, where you can pay to have a service line run to the garage? I guess an electric heater in the future (?), although that might not work too well with no power or maybe a propane fueled heater!
