Great reaction. Best metal band today IMO. Elite musicians. Midori & Miyako are among the best dual guitarists I've ever heard. Midori (light hair) tends to be the shredder & Miyako (dark hair) more melodic (But she does shred). They play off ech other seamlessly. A majority of their songs will have a killer solo from each sliding into awesome harmonies. Asami, the vocalist, has an R&B background. Her voice is very "operatic" ( A little Bruce Dickinson vibe maybe), which just fits in their mixes. And please don't mention Maroon5 again, I lost my train of thought as well. Keep it going guys, trust me it just get's more impressive.

Definitely enjoying your reactions. They are bloody good, mates. Founder and bassist was inspired by one Stephen Percy Harris of Iron Maiden. Miho was able to meet ol' 'arry and there is a pic that was taken. Completely agree about the way Midori and Miyako play the notes on guitar. They are fast, accurate and musical. This is unlike early speed metal that was just playing whatever notes as fast as could be played but with absolutely no thought of musical structure. Yes, MakoDori may be among the best guitar duos I have heard. Mako comes from Miyako -iy and Midori -Mi = MakoDori. The band calls Miyako the 'Golden Touch' and Midori 'Crazy Shredder.' The call Haruna 'The Little Big Engine' because she is only 4'9". Despite this she plays with the accuracy, speed, power and energy that most drummers could not keep up with. I call her the 'Nuclear Spark Plug' of the band. How many marathons does she run on her double bass drum during a concert? Wow. Asami is a mezzo soprano giving her a great voice for power metal. That long note she held is about 9 seconds. If you know the song Thunderball (4th bond film) sung by Tom Jones then you know his last note is 9 seconds. Jones claimed he almost passed out after releasing that note. Asami held that note with ease. She is only about 4'11" but has the most amazing breath control. Originally she was influenced by Aretha Franklin and Alicia Keyes to become a R&B singer. She walked in for the audition for Lovebites without knowing much about metal. Off stage she looks like she would be more at home in a Barbara Streisand movie musical like What's Up Doc. Yet when she is on stage she is as metal as metal can be. One of their best songs is the 2020 live version of Swan Song. Asami's voice has been described as a female Bruce Dickinson. Personally I'm not sure if that is the best comparison, but it does describe the vibrato she has in voice. I also suspect this comparison was made (in part) because some LOVEBITES songs do have clear Iron Maiden vibes.

Just came here from your first reaction to them. Congratulations, you have found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. They went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later. They did their first live performances in more than two years in summer of 2023, with their new bassist Fami. Their very first show was commemorated on the DVD “Knocking on Heaven’s Gate”. They have posted four performances from that DVD-“”Hammer of Wrath”, “Judgement Day”, “Nameless Warrior” and “Liar”. All of them are barn-burners. They have also posted “Stand and Deliver”, “Swan Song” and “MDO” from the second concert. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Their play is very fast and intense in this song, but we see the guitarists’ finger touch is very light and smooth on fret. And Haruna’s crazily fast and accurate drumming looks effortless. They would indeed be athletes if they were doing 3 to 4 hours on stage. A LOVEBITES set generally tops out at two hours, with MC breaks and the encore. In the commentary of their Knocking at Heaven’s Gate video they actually comment that by the end of the show they are running on adrenaline because of the work they are doing. Besides playing guitar, bass and drums at that pace, Asami sings with the same intensity for 90% of the show, yet is able to hit and hold long notes right to the end. Best band ever. No Peers.

They will give you real intense heart pounding music in heavy, thrash genres. They bring you tears (almost) in their ballad song. They give heart warming in uplifting, motivated lyrics. They show epic and masterpiece art with progressive rock. And some soothing feeling also in between all of that, like Empty Daydream, Unbroken, Dance With The Devil, etc. Always mindblowing, breathtaking live show. There are three short taps in this song, each of which is shown in close-up, so it is easy to mistake them as being done by one person at a time, but all three are tapped at the same time. Also, this song seems to be quite hard for the vocalist. Asami got a nosebleed during the first recording, and the members teased her for a while by calling it a "nosebleed war" instead of a "holy war.

Excellent choice for your first LOVEBITES line. I think it has MIYAKO’s and MIDORI’s very best, most expertly crafted, and most melodic solos. To be honest, it took a while, but ASAMI’s voice has definitely grown on me.
