This police officer needs to be removed from duty and retrained or sacked. We need to keep recording crown servants overstepping their authority and make them personally accountable. I can only think that this cop knows he is a corrupt, egotistical and bent cop. He projects the image that he doesn't know the law and is happy to make it up as he goes. Get this bent cop out of the force ASAP.

This was a very good example of poor policing. An interesting potential tactic for auditors when challenged about ‘baiting’. Explain how they are only baiting poor officers, and the ones that bite are exactly that. “Found one!!!”. Policing is clearly a very difficult job - we don’t expect them to all know every law and procedure, but we do expect them to behave appropriately - if they don’t know the law, then find out first before detaining. If you as an officer detail someone without establishing the facts, expect to be embarrassed for the whole world to see. Act with humility and you’ll avoid all of this.

Police that have little to zero knowledge of basic laws need removing from the job and either sacked or made to sit in a classroom for at least 6 months learning them with a test after each section and if they fail it then definitely sacked. If the public can take time to learn the basic laws then cops should be made to learn them. Signs on buildings in public view like those shown of no photography in public are illegal and cannot be forced in law. They just hate it that the public has that right to film their building as it can be seen from public.

That’s not fair to disregard people with genuine mental ill health concerns even if they are in the force. People with depression, anxiety, ptsd etc shouldn’t be condemned because of that they can still contribute positively to the world. Not to mention others with autism, dyslexia, adhd and other behavioural disparities. All officers need to do is be polite, respectful and empathic. Then be fit and capable enough to detain criminals when necessary to protect the public. On a side note, this guy with a Xbox controller is hilarious for that 😂😂😂 should have brought a GameCube one 😂😂😂

I'm with you on getting some Section 26 things happening. I've just noticed a loophole though....the act says "knowingly". That word can be an attribute to many a police person, but rarely used!

As more of these vids are going out there on social media, we should be getting less ignorance of the laws, and better police attitudes etc. This is from a couple of years ago, and i think that encountering certain things/people for the first time is perhaps more excusable. I imagine things like drone training is being rolled out in bits and bobs, budgets and stuff permitting, from just the basic training, to more advanced training for some. If those same police are still like that two years on, then it should be goodbye to them from those rolls, if not the force altogether. Although, as I've said before in comments, I believe there is a need for all different types of cops, from the small to the tall, the passive to the aggressive (70's Sweeney style. Brilliant John Thaw and Dennis Waterman) Reggie often makes me laugh. A bit candid camera type things.
