November 14, 1970. A horror beyond belief struck Huntington, West Virginia when a plane full of football players from their beloved Marshall University crashed on final approach to the Tri-State Airport. Flash forward to November 14, 2020. A half-century after the tragedy, the community has healed - but they have not forgotten. This is the story of the 75, of the Thundering Herd, and of the event that forever changed the Jewel City.

It's hard to believe that I was just 6 days old in Miami when this happened. May their souls rest in eternal peace

I don't care what Marshall's accomplished in the past their biggest accomplishment of my mind came on Is September 10th 2022. When Marshall University was paid 1.25 million Dollars to come in to into South Bend to play the Notre Dame fighting Irish. And for everyone to understand who doesn't watch football completely this was a tune up game in the eyes of Notre Dame. They scheduled them to beat them to kick the living shit out of them. This game was supposed to just boost the confidence of the Notre Dame fighting Irish football players. They wanted to store off their season at home with a blowout win. Instead Marshall came in to play them and pulled off the biggest upset in their programs history. I was in mountaineer field watching West Virginia warm up when we saw the score of that game. I never thought I'd hear mountaineer fans cheering cheering for Marshall or Marshall and when they saw who they beat the they were cheering loud.

Great video. I was 10 years old when this happened; and didn't know about it till the movie came out. I've done some research since. I've seen several articles and documentaries, and would love to visit Marshall University, and meet people who experienced this tragedy.

With bad visibility you would think the pilots might pay special attention to the altimeter. What do I know.

Clearly not. Humans never have a clue hence it still taken place today. It seems “experts” only come out towards the end when it’s already too late. I’m starting to truly think maybe it’s time for AI computers after all.
