I have a small homestead. I have favorite resource to share. When I needs to clean out a building, or rock pick a feild, load up to take stuff to the dump, I arrange a service project with the local boy scouts. I pay the troop towards thier camp. They work really hard and come with supervision.

You know from 1954 to 1965 my mother owned the top of Joy Mtn 186 acres and my brothers had to work that farm with our hands, mules, and old equipment. I went to 2nd grade in Rosebud in ‘54 then the rest in Searcy. Sometimes we went to church in Joy, the rest of time we went to the baptist church across from the old Mayflower Hotel in Searcy. I tell you this so you know what I mean when I say, “you two work to hard”. I have been there and done that.

If they are the metal buildings like we have, there a zillion bolts that have to be put in. It took us 4 people to get it put up. It's nice when it's done but it's LOTS of work. Scaffolding and/or lifts are a must.

Andrea I TOTALLY am in your boat. My animals come first...fresh water first thing...turning critters loose...feeding... then I might get a cup of coffee and change out of my jammies😅. I don't have a KZfaq and can't even conceive HOW you add that to your already busy busy day! And yep dislike the cold days where my tractor battery won't start...love our GOD and feel SO Blessed for how HE helps me every step of the way! Let me you Andrea. Your neighbor in Missouri.

Lol I do my housework in my jammies😊 I was up at 4am making bread as I couldn't sleep 😮😅I laid-back down around 6 for a nap😂 Up dehydrating bread cubes and marshmallows for hotcocoa mix for grands🎉❤ I'm glad I'm not alone on this journey of homesteading😊 thank you for sharing

I dont have nearly as much to do as you, and I do my milking in my pajamas!!! but some days it's hard to get it all done. We have chicken, pigs a milk cow and her 9 month old heifer, our future 2nd milk cow. Green house, we are building hubby his dream garage and I'm building out a tiny house/ pantry. , pantry room is completed ( thankful to get that bedroom back in the house) working on the bedroom w/ kitchenette now.

Appreciate your attitude and your sharing your experience. I'm 72 now, retired construction, minister, prison & rehab chaplain and garden enthusiast 🤔😰and disabled in a wheelchair. Not able to do all those things now but, I continue to try. As you know, if you don't use it you will lose it. It's best to keep on a keepin on and finding ways to make it happen. Yes, and take breaks do some leisure. Trust Our Lord for strength, health and safety. Keep our rars tuned to hear His voice. Blessings to you and your family ☝️🙏🙌💪🇺🇸❤️🎯

Wouldn't it be easier to run a 220 line to power the freezers than try to re-wire each compressor and fan? IMHO it seems it would be, but...I'm not an electrician, just a guy who frequently bites off more than he can chew! Love your videos. Thanks for sharing!

Hey y'all, Even if y'all bit off more than you could dhew you did size the situation formed a plan and just did it because that is what Americans do! I know y'all grew up in the era where you never told mama or daddy that y'all could not do something. I know it backfired on me every time. When i got to Ft Jackso in South Carolina the first thing we heard our company commander say This is the Can Do army. While you are hear you can Do what I tell you or you can get the *** out! So either way you can do one of the two things. With all that I vowed to Never say those words ever again and I have not. I have bitten off too much also but taken one step at a time I do get it done. It all comes down to personal responsibility and doing what you say you will do. Otherwise just say NO at the start. I have a lot of respect for y'all watching your channel for all this time.

have you considered taking on a helper maybe an OJT or some one wanting too learn and need experience years back could get employment on ranch or farm and living quarters provided and depending on what type of farm/ranch meat or vegetable ect still got paid a wage but the other benefits were also figured in if big enough operation a company form of transportation to use on the ranch or farm

Andrea, why, oh why, do you only milk two quarters at a time? Your Surge milker is made to do all 4 quarters at once. It would save you on milking time. Surge is what we used for all my years living with my parents.

Whoa....😮😮‍💨😮‍💨 Yep, once the kids move on its totally different...ya gotta think realistically is this worth it to my mental health as well....there is a price for that too ... eventually u will find more and more isn't worth it. I firmly believe where I live people absolutely do not understand or appreciate all that goes into growing healthier food, they still are mostly concerned about the lowest price. No way can a small farmer compete with old Wally world 🤷😕
