WE BOOKED A SPONTANEOUS TRIP TO BYRON BAY | Australia vlog!
Hi! This one was a long time coming. This vlog is from Summer (Late Feb) and I’m so excited I get to share it with you guys while reminiscing on this special trip.
I think some of the best experiences in life are the spontaneous ones, the ones your friends call you up for the night before to plan. While Beth and I were in Queensland, we thought it would be the perfect time to visit Byron! (It’s in New South Wales, and only an hour and a half drive from Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast)
We booked a shuttle and an airbnb (The Surf House hostel) and quickly packed the least amount of things possible. We both only brought one bag!! Which is amazing considering how much we usually pack for overnight trips.
Once we got to Byron, we walked to our hostel, passing some aesthetic cafes and boutiques and then checked in. We were so surprised to see how light-filled and well-designed our room was.
We then headed to Main Beach (which is a 3 minute walk from our hostel) and met some other visitors - some of which were there on surfing trips. There were also little fish swimming around in the rock pools!
On our way back to the hostel, we met ‘a man with a van’ (that rhymes yay!) and it was so cool to hear his story and how he’s able to live in a mini bus while travelling around Australia and still studying at uni.
We got ready and went to the bar which was meters away from our room. We met some lovely dutch guys who recommended us a vegan restaurant for dinner that night.
Penang Duck Curry, ‘No beef’ sliders, french fries, fried chicken - and it was all vegan. I am honestly craving it right now. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough!
I also bumped into some friends from an overseas trip that I went on almost 4 years ago. Crazy to see them after so long!
In the next vlog, Beth and I wake up for sunrise and make the most of a full day in Byron Bay.
