I actually work at the factory in NC where these are made. We make about 200 machines a day. But we haven’t made any Land Management models for the past 3 or 4 months. I’m not sure why but I guess that would explain the shortage. P.s the land management models are a pain the arse to assemble 😂

Two hundred A DAY?!? My nearest cat dealer is claiming that he can only rent because there's not enough 🤬

Add the rear counterweights, it'll help with that 3500lb. Cimaf mulcher head. The saddle tanks on the land management hold enough fuel to mulch 12 hours without refueling. They really aren't that bad in the woods. Thought I would hate them, but after the first week you don't realize they're on it anymore, and no they aren't beat up, I don't even have any scrapes or marks on them. The LM also uses the Stucci screw type hydraulic quick connectors, they are really good for reducing restriction and in turn heat build up.

Nice machine you need a 522 feller buncher with a 24 inch quadco 360 hot saw

Nice machine...you need to chock the trailer wheels when driving a load up on it...that lurching (forward and backward) could possibly damage the truck's transmission (park gear) if enough force is leveled...

My company at one time had 66 Caterpillar 299 CTL's ranging from 2010 to 2015 model years.. I always liked them better than the New Hollands

Very nice machine.. I just bought a new 279d3 (not for mulching) about a month ago. It was on order for 2 months. I have been kinda nervous about my machine since I got it. It came with a cut track, but the dealer made it right. I noticed it squeaking right away. It took 25 pumps of grease before I saw the first drop come out of the upper pins. Coolant was low. Then I happened to stand directly behind it and site down the side and noticed the track lean outward. I have the block style tracks. I only have 22 hours on it now, but the tracks are wearing way more on the outside than the inside. A rep from the company came out and looked at it and said he had never seen anything like it. They were about to start shimming the undercarriage to level it, but I said "hold on" , let's see what CAT engineering has to say. So I got a call last week and they tell me the tracks are supposed to be leaning 1.5 degrees with a tolerance of plus or minus 1 degree. Mine are a little over 2 degrees sitting on the floor and over 3 degrees when machine is jacked up and undercarriage is suspended. I sure think this is a design flaw.. Hard for me to believe they built this machine to wear the tracks uneven. I looked at a few more on a lot Saturday and they seem to lean also, but not as much as mine. Yall please take a look at yours and see what you think..Thanks. Scott Hanners

Did Caterpillar make it right???
@BamaGuppies2 жыл бұрын
@@NakedDave100 They did give me a new track because of the one being cut. as far as the leaning track, they kept saying they were designed that way. i have looked at several since then and most look the same way. It threw a code a few weeks ago and died. it would crank and run for about 15ft and die again. Code said "low voltage on pressure pump" ended up being a bad crimped wire from the factory. i took it in and they fixed it same day.
