2 жыл бұрынLife experiences are a great way to learn, with recent experiences we realize We are not as KIND as we think we are. And this MIGHT APPLY TO YOU TOO. After a month of self-reflecting, and traveling in our recently purchase van Luffy, we learn about 3 ways to CHANGE that.
Yes, we bought a van in Turkey. A huge thank you to Kaya Karavan, Otomotiv Kaya, and especially to Ugur and Selma for their kindness and support during some rough times we have been living through since we got our van.
Faith in humanity is restored when we witness or receive acts of kindness and we hope this video inspires you to be a better human with others around you, even if they are strangers.

Hey guys! We really enjoyed the video! We can relate to that. Sometimes you are offered geniuine kindness and you take it suspiciously. We've had a few experiences around Asia and we've learned a lot. You made really good points!

Thank you guys! Yes, do you think "develop countries" get more of the suspicious thoughts when offered kindness? We don't know what it is, but it is fascinating how we can be on the defensive side, while for them (in this case Turkish) is normal to help others, and build the community.

Yay!! We are back!! Thank you guys! Yes Selma and Uğur have been amazing. We still text them and they answer everything we ask. My Turkish is not as good as Yen's! Love how much effort you have put into that. Very inspiring. Duman was a nice gentleman. Def didn't expect that to happen. Thank you guys! Where are you now?

@@PeterandYen we know what you mean, we have been in Antalya a couple of times. Last year in June we were doing the video for Seher (turtles) and it was crazy hot. We are in the north of Madrid, on the mountains 😂 running away from the heat 😂

Glad to see you guys are back! It must have been very disheartening when things started going bad with the van. It's great that they took it back to fix it and even sorted you out with a place to stay! I think that usually I'm quite suspicious of kindness when it's coming from someone who wants to sell you something but you can usually tell if they are genuine by how passionate they are. We've had a few situations when we travelling where we got scamed but most people were genuinly kind and so I always try to give everyone the benefit of a doubt

Yes, I think it gets worse when you are in a foreign country where you don't speak the language or know exactly the ins and outs. We are happy we have been learning this lesson in the last few months even more so. Sometimes we just gotta close our eyes and jump. Thank you guys!

I used to feel so bad when people questioned my kindness, like I waited something in return. Made it all awkward. It made me feel bad like something was wrong with me, like I had some other agenda. I now believe when people can't accept kindness it is their defect, not mine.

Bravo!! Very well said Bora! This is a great life lesson, when we first met you in person, we were so surprised, one that you wanted to meet us, and two how wonderful you are. You are truly a genuine person and love spending time with you. But, yes, as you have visited other countries, you know that kindness you have in you is unique and rare. We are lucky to have you as a friend!

OMG, Lieles face at 1:27 is priceless. 😂That sucks you guys experienced so many issues with the van. We would've felt the same way. The sellers did what they should've done. But we would've had and attitude. HAhaha 🤣 We're definitely not as nice.

Story of my life! I get asked every day if I am Filipino or Chinese hahaha even Lieles used to confuse me with Asian women walking down the street when living in NYC. We hope you let us show you Turkey one day with the baby and see for yourself. We keep saying Turkey has spoiled us and now every other place doesn't look as good.

Your messages inspire us so much Carl! Thank you for your wonderful support and love. We will do a full reveal of the van soon. It is ok, we got it fixed now and we are super happy. We haven't recorded a bunch of huge moments as we got scammed in Serbia, we almost catch fire in Croatia, we got the knock on the van in Italy hahah It has been non-stop, and we forgot to record all that. Yes, we are very lucky Selma and Ugur have been incredible. Remember to be kind to yourself!

Yes kindness goes both ways! But be prepared for people who take advantage of that, it just happens. I'm glad you got the van fixed, and people were so helpful to you guys! And we don't get served food here at dealerships, maybe just coffee lol.. then they take your money for the new car 😄

hahaha yes, when thinking about the differences between Turkey and the US, we are more and more convinced that we are happy where we are lol. We went to another dealership before buying this van, and they also fed us hahaha and we didn't even buy their vehicle.
