This will be a great build. These g wagon are a rich man's dream. Parts are fairly easy to find. Definately looking forward to this one. And yes this should be pop's new ride! He works real hard for you two and he deserves it. Great video❤

G Wagon was originally designed for the West German army. The chassis is so tough it's unreal, and they wade through water up to the bottom of the windows. Body parts are easy to find, but the mechanicals are going to be pricy as they're AMG and pretty rare, even here in Germany. Upside is, they'll do 500,000km and still look like new. Cool build.

This G63 is a thrill to drive, from the aggressive growl to how it kicks you back in every gear. it simply puts puts a smile on your face and gets a lot of attention

Be cool if you added the camera wing mirrors onto this with the screens inside, above the doors. See them on a lot of HGV's over here in UK. Also in the boot that's a retractable boot cover, to hide what you have stashed in there. Easy to remove to store larger items 👍🏻

The brown in the side mirror is because it's an electrochromatic mirror, so it auto-dims in bright light to help reduce glare. Or, it would, if it wasn't broken.

Hey Billy and Simon, its Ben from SEMA.. G463/464 are expensive to fix in parts and labor and paint and that is why its very easy to see why that truck got totaled. the new body style 2019+ are very hard to get back to factory specs with damage like that. I know you will go your own route and you will most likely be fine especially if that is for pops, but i have fixed about 4 of these and taking the body off seems to save time. From the looks at that truck the front suspension crossmember is broken. part # 463-310-98-02 its about 4900.00 and you need the brackets to hold it on correctly. The big issue is making sure the frame is straight before replacing that piece. it is almost impossible to get the G463 correct because the solid axle does not give you much room for error. on your g464 the IFS will let you correct for a not perfect natural alignment but you really only have 4 or 5 degrees before it messes up a lot of stuff while cornering. The scary part for me is how many of those doors are tweaked. I fear you will be chasing gaps with each pull. You can always make it a 4 door convertible with half doors :) I might have some parts you could use. I will let you know what's available after I see you start tearing into that truck. feel free to call me in the meantime if you need anything else.

The small air vents in the back (close to the trunk door) are there to allow over pressure to escape when you slam shut one of the doors. As a G wagon owner my self I would recommend a bull bar with winch, small lift kit with good offroad tires, change out the side steps for rocksliders with treebars, add some extra lights and make this thin the offroad beast its supposed to be/build to be.

Custom Built Opportunity!!!! G63 Beach Cruiser!!!! Chop off the top (everything above the bottom of the windows, with Jeep style windshield. You could even build a custom rollbar for mounting surfboards.

Fixing a chassis after a roll is not going to be easy, it has put every door out of true, every corner is twisted, it not just on a lean due to no front wheel. Sub for this one.

You guys should really think about a peelable booth coating for the paint booth before it gets dirty. When it gets dirty you peel it off and then re apply. Also, you need to get a velometer because you want a slightly positive booth pressure when you paint to keep out dirt. The door should have slight outswing pressure. That shows that when you open the door or have cracks it won’t pull dirt in, but rather push out air repelling dirt in paint.

Didnt know much about g wagons, but after watching Whistlin Diesel tear his up repeatedly id say they are pretty badass rides lol
