We Built a $2,000 Show Mini Bike (and Raffled it Off for Charity!)

We build and raffle off a Rascal mini bike for charity with Go Power Sports! The Rascal mini bike is the newest cruiser mini bike on the market, built similarly to the Lil Rascal, but with stretched proportions to fit an adult rider supremely comfortably. The placement of the handlebars, seat position, and foot pegs are near perfect for any adult- making this mini bike kit my go-to cruiser from now on. The guys at Go Power Sports powder coated the frame in candy apple red with black accents, and had the handlebars and exhaust chromed. This was the cleanest mini bike we've ever built, and Go Power Sports raffled it off at the Pate Swap Meet to one lucky winner!

I use all thread with two nuts/washers and squeeze the bushings in, helps them go in straight like when I get paint in there.

i do that for bushings and small bearings (use a large washer to press against the outer edge of the bearing if that's the part that is being fitted)

John & Ike, I would love for you guys to do your own powder coating! Just get a cheap old electric stove with an oven. You can get the electrostatic powdercoating gun from Eastwood or alternatively, mix the powder with distilled water in a blender and spray it on like you would paint although the finish on this last method will be more orange-peely looking. Regardless on how you apply the powder, then just bake the parts according to the recommended settings mfr. Usually 20mins @ 350F but it varies with powder brands. Great video guys!

At 7:50 the digger they revived ages ago is up on the shelf. With the paint cracking, Kevin (JYD) had his dad in an episode of the golden Oldsmobile and he said the clearcoat will dry and pull the paint apart if it’s applied too soon

To clear it up a bit. If you don't let your coats flash(let off vapors) they will get trapped and your paint is guaranteed to flake n peel off. You can usually find on paint cans.

For small parts, you can get an old oven to bake your own powder coat. Then all you need is the special sprayer.

Granted it's about a month away but you guys should check out the VMBC (Vintage Motor Bike Club) meet in Portland, Indiana. Lots of classic bikes, scooters and motorcycles. Including Cushmans, Whizzers, Hondas and all sorts of other classics. Would be cool as hell to see you guys there!!!

I saw a side by side “power wheels” at my local Walmart for $400. It is pretty good size next to a tank one( like Grind Hard is building). I live in East Tennessee.
