Somehow, despite the lack of thumbnails with bikini clad ladies, this channel has become my absolute favorite. This is the one channel I can't wait to watch every week. Really nice work on those bench tops! Thank you for sharing this project with those of us that also enjoy being inventors and creators. I know when you put yourself out there in the public eye you are open to a lot of criticism. I just wanted to let you know how much many of us enjoy seeing all of your hard work and dreams come to life.

I can tell being on camera doesn't come naturally to Matt but he has the confidence to be outside his comfort zone. He is articulate and knowledgeable. Umm and uhh are not part of his speech patterns Good job.

I concur! When he lays down the first seat, I can’t help, I yelled: “BOOM, LIKE A GLOVE!”. It feels like being right there, birds, planes, and felines included. Janneke makes a great job on keeping the most important parts well trimmed and mixed. Editing is no joke!

Duracell is not like that sailing channel hosted by the older couple fresh from orthodontia, Botox, and plastic surgery in Mexico, both with hair pieces glued to their scalps (you can tell its fake when is is the only part that does no move in a strong wind., and layers of makeup.🙂

This episode has some first class filming and editing that shows the art in great craftsmanship. I love that! It sounds like you are able to focus on topics for extended amounts of time until you have a satisfying solution. I can relate to that. :)

Like this channel a lot. As a ship structural engineer I work in steel only, so it's nice to see other boat building materials. Wood (Tally Ho and A2A), plywood/GRP/epoxy (Tapatia), and here GRP/foam core/epoxy as the most cutting edge of them all. I like watching Matt work and explain stuff in his relaxed manner. Workmanship is excellent, all very professional and very educational!

I think those locker tops and gutters will look great and function well. It doesn't matter what tools you use to design a product, it is the ability to conceive an elegant solution that matters and, Matt, you really have that ability.

I do enjoy your channel so please do not take this as negative criticism. It always surprises me that people don't look at production boats. They have some of the best ideas ever. I have had gutters on cockpit lazarette seats for at least 30 years. It is a common feature, I wish you all the best and hope you have been enjoying the Ocean Race. The descendent boats of your own and Mike Plant.

This fiberglass and vacuum work is fun to watch, Sampson and Arabella got me on wood overload. That boat is going to be so cool, everything is turning out so solid. Thanks to the both of you for sharing this project, can imagine it’s not easy but sure is going to benefit a lot of people who watch these videos and see fiberglass molds and various other things done so effectively. It’s got me excited about jumping into some fiberglass ideas in the future.

I have been following along since the first magic carpet visit here on the channel. I absolutely love how you guys run this channel. One of the things I really appreciate is how Matt sometimes takes feedback from the comments/viewers into account and improves his ideas. One of such things that comes to mind is the sunken winches.

Your patience, attention to detail and aptitude for envisioning designs and problem solving through them are impressive. Those are my strengths as well so it is very inspiring and motivating to watch you do them. You do them better than I do and that motivates me to improve. Just like the rest of Duracell, Matt is building the gutters bulletproof. Hard to tell what the inspector thought about them though. You're on a roll with the benches, might as well roll with it. Thanks for the video.

After three decades of boat ownership I can make or fix just about anything on a fiberglass cruising boat. I love marine electrical and electronics, like rigging work, can do OK on canvas work, but I HATE fiberglass work!!! Just before the voice over I thought 'Been following along from the beginning and really impressed with how well Janneke weaves such an interesting backstory into the day to day rendition of Matt's creative ideas', then shocked that its been 2 years. No. All the space under the cockpit is for systems. I'm going to build a hatch in the deck and another access from the quarterberth to get into that space, but no access from the benches..

I've been surprised and felt like I've been doing it all wrong as I've never seen Matt use the laminating technique I most commonly use: stippling with a chip brush. Seeing him use it here made me feel better.

I have loved your channel from day 1, precisely because you are Real, Comprehensive, Clear, Accurate, Paced well, Attractively presented, Relevant, .. I might have to get out my thesaurus for the rest of them! BUT you are all these because you are NOT Flash, Superficial, Skimming, Confusing, Wrong, etc etc. So Introverts ROCK! One other plus - the Inspector. Cat lovers build good boats. Thank you.

I can’t tell you how much I love this KZfaq channel. As a tradesman myself.. actually a diesel fitter with Caterpillar and now nearing retirement working in property management and repair I so love your attention to detail and indeed the quality video and editing to bring all this fantastic construction work to life.. manna from heaven.. gorgeous guttering work and beautiful drip rail details . I found your channel like two weeks ago, im up to date now, i don’t even know how to sail but would like to some day. Anyways the duracell project has been really fun to watch and see you tackle all the problems the project throws at you gl on everything
