What all cool about the big aqueduct is that the part where it goes over the river dee...there is a drain..where they drain it to the river below

Hello from Germany. This brought back wonderful memories. Twice I stayed over a week at Lada Margaret's camping park near Chirk. From there it was a short stroll to this incredible aequaduct and watching the narrowboats coming out of the tunnel. Thanks for sharing.

You've probably thought about what you want to see in Wales. Just a few personal recommendations. The Ffestiniog light railway is a must, Mt Snowden on the mountain railwat too. There is a coal mine now a museum called Big Pit. They take you down into the mines and you switch the head lamp off. You literally can't see your hand in front of your face. The darkness is total.

It's amazing that you got such glorious weather to cross the aqueducts. If it was average November/December weather, it was very likely to be grey, windy, misty and damp - which would have put such a downer on the experience. Keep on chugging and being lucky :)

So glad you got to have that fantastic experience,I would have wasted no less than 25gal.of diesel going back and forth. Those are my two favorite aquaducts to watch any boater go over and watch over and over!

Good Nz morning guys. Yep when we planned what route we were doing, back in 2008, I think it was the right one. We had our rented narrow boat for just a week, and we got some pretty good advice from the rental company. If someone falls into the Llangollen Canal, yell out to them, "Stand up." Water levels had dropped. We did touch the bottom once. Great episode guys. Great footage. Thanks again for sharing. Take care. Atb from down under.
