We had many recommendations NOT TO use spray foam but they were just false rumours or myths about condensation, flammability, rusting etc. The time will tell and we will share here, but at the first glance it just feels the best decision we could make! This was my first time using spray foam gun, but with a little practise its possible to get efficient fast. We choose new type of flexible foam 'Penosil'
If you decide to choose spray foam don't forget to buy plastic cover, plan and prepare for spraying carefully since there are some spot's the foam may harm the locking system or access to change the light bulbs.
P. S. It's definitely one of the most expensive choices of insulations.

I havent started my build yet as i am still planning. I had thought of this spray foam but everywhere i looked i found negative revues. I will be interested in your up date. The other consideration for me was the cost of insulation the way you have done it compared to the most common way that van builds are done. I also see the be efit of weight saving, it may not seem a lot but i am sure you will save weight your way. Good luck with your build

Hey, thank you for watching! Yes, tons of negative reviews, but - the reviewers are just speculating, they are usually chosen the other methods, secondly, its better to talk with people who work in construction or just an engineer who understands physics you will get proper answer. Since we going to travel in the winter times, the best insulation is must and with some stickers, sheets of wool or just plywood its impossible to achieve same R value.

Nice job! There's always debate and opinions from the experts in the crowd. I've used closed cell spray foam for years in my home renovation projects and have had no moisture migration issues. Van conversion professionals I've researched seem to like foam, but this is not my expertise. My greatest negative with foam is dealing with the cured overspray, installing finishing materials when the application is too thick. This can be time consuming. Good luck with the rest of the project.

Thanks for the video! I'm really curious how this ultimately turns out (for warmth, noise, moisture, etc.). It makes sense to me, as the potential best choice... but have heard others say not to do it. So it will be interesting to find out from you two if it was worth doing. Nice job trying it out!

Hey! We were attacked by a lot of people in social media for this decision, but the actual talks with engineers was the word we trusted. Also I'm not afraid to share failures or other mistakes we made so if you stay tuned, doing a review after some time. Thank you for watching!

Did the foam warp the outside skin of the van? Another site said that would happen.

Hi, no, that's depended of the foam type, some of them expands a lot, and some of them just a little and no chance of 'warp'

⁠@@rolling-homeit will create cold spots /condensation on the metal it’s adhered too, the panels needed a barrier applied 1st. The foam over time breaks down then acts like a sponge eventually absorbing the moisture trapped

@@rolling-homePenosil is a closed cell foam and it does not absorb the water. I decided to use it in my van too, so you are not alone 😂 Don't worry

@rolling-home closed cell foam is very different. They aren't all the same. No ones trying to be mean but that's gonna get damp...
