I like to consider this an example of K-level reasoning. We don't really think about how many levels of reasoning there are, but in here, there are at least 3, probably four. Statistically speaking, though, people often stop at 2, which would definitely be before realizing the king needs prior awareness of the detective's awareness to fire before the detective arrests.

Since you played this game, you should probably play Bad End Theater. It's basically like Storyteller, except you only use four characters to tell many different stories. There's even some hidden LORE included!!!!!!!! You should play it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't watched it all but im pretty sure I solved the Duke shoots detective before they did So the Duke sees the queen and king the detective sees the Duke kill someone then the Duke witnesses the detective know about the crime then Duke grabs gun kills him Everything is happy Yay
