Join us in our (t)rusty old LDV Convoy on our adventures across Türkiye 🇹🇷
On this leg of our journey, our friend River joins us as we embark on a big road trip journey through the centre of Türkiye in winter.
We find an abandoned hot spring on a stud farm, camp in a hidden log cabin in the forest, and discover a valley of sulphurous hot water in the famous region of Cappadocia, before staying at a unique cave hotel. Expect plenty of soaking in hot springs, wild camping in the vast, empty Konya plain, and a history of the fairy chimneys of Goreme and the underground cities of Cappadocia.

Thank you for sharing us about its hugely appreciated. Honestly it’s a bit disheartening sometimes when the videos only get a few hundred views but we love making these mini films and enjoy all the experiences they provide- so the popularity (or not😂) of them is just a bonus for us.

@@FromRustToRoadtrip well I did notice project amber give you a bit of a plug too a few months ago so hopefully it will pick up. Problem with the people of today they all expect a vanlifer to have a brand new van. Along with it been incredibly expensive it's not as much fun and the problems add to the adventure and memories. Keep it up time will make you famous on here. I also love that you give do much more than any other KZfaqrs too you go to places that are not on the tourist map and well off the beaten track . Your just simply amazing and you both have great personalities too. Let's get your name out their.

@@glennwilkinson389 Oh that's so kind of you! ☺Totally agree about the problems adding to the adventure, I always say to Ben: "Where would be the fun in having a brand new van?" He's yet to agree with me, but getting an LDV was his idea in the first place, so he's got to live with it 😂

Unfortunately I think youtube only promotes click baity fake titles to cater for the masses with short attention spans. People don't appreciate well made masterpieces like this video :(

You're really making me want to do a trip to inland Turkey. I love the way you make these videos. I can't understand why your van doesn't start more easily. Judging from the exhaust there's plenty of fuel getting through.

It’s a wicked area! We generally find the inland areas to be more authentic than the coast. Once we got a new battery our van was starting fine again 😁 The cold must’ve killed it And thanks!

Positivity is good, but always park facing down a hill (to roll start) just in case :) Such a great way to start my Sunday! It's kind of sad how the people and the country have been affected by 'modern' life. It's hard to keep a balance and the modern world infiltrates everywhere now, hence the lack of young people in remote areas. This video is so professional, I can't wait for the next :)
@FromRustToRoadtrip
@FromRustToRoadtrip Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! 🥰 Yes great observation, it seems there is nowhere untouched by modern life now, but then who are we to deny them the same privileges we have? On the other hand it means we can connect with people easily and instantly now, like the men in the village who we added on WhatsApp! 😁 It’s always a complex train of thought, but I know we find rural villages far more fascinating than cities! And good tip- unless you need to sleep in the van, in which case parking on a hill will just give you a bad back and a sleepless night (from experience) 😂 Thanks for watching! The next video (and last in our Turkey series) will be out next week, and it’s a good one 😁

Just been catching up, so great to see the old girl soldiering on! I noticed with the Noko connected you have a pretty good cranking speed and I'm surprised it doesn't fire sooner. I wonder if you've an air ingress further towards the engine, allowing fuel to syphon back into the tank overnight. I noticed unburnt diesel leaving the exhaust only 20seconds into cranking, which could suggest this sort of thing is going on. Did I see a primer on the filter btw? I'd highly recommend a can of easy-start for this kind of behaviour though, one spray into your air inlet while turning over will make it fire without a doubt, and take some strain away from your starter and battery. I'm astounded by the hospitality of these people and how they welcomed you in for a feast, thank you for such a spectacular job filming these encounters, not always easy! Love the cheese moment by the way, I'm with you here Ben. As a fussy eater (and veggie!) I'm terrified when people hand me stuff out of kindness and you just have to suck it up😂haha! Safe travels guys!

We did in fact have an air leak issue for a couple of months before this, turned out to be a perished fuel hose elbow above the tank, and the fuel filter housing was cracked and leaking fuel. We’ve fixed these now, but could still be an issue on this old van! She starts absolutely fine when it’s warm, but takes her time when it’s cold. We did break out the EasyStart when it got to -15°C to reduce the strain on the starter motor as you say 😁 And yes we fitted a small electric pump before the filter to catch air and water in a small trap, because of our problem we had in Macedonia with water in the diesel. It’s a big help for cold starting too! Yes we honestly couldn’t get over the hospitality in Turkey, it’s on another level! The cheese though… 🤢 We call it “village cheese” which is anything white, sour and tastes like it should’ve been thrown out a long time ago 😂

Aww thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed the video 😄 Haha that was probably my favourite part (and Ben's least favourite), I knew he wouldn't like it but I set him up to eat it 😂 Usually when we're offered food I take the dairy (even if it is sour and lumpy) and Ben takes the meat and spicy things (even though we're both veggie), it's a good system 😂
