'We don't have time to care about British elections,' CCP spokesman says after hacking accusations

‘No-one has any bandwidth to care about the elections in Britain.’
Victor Gao, widely described as a spokesperson for the CCP, denies allegations that China launched 'malicious' cyber attacks on the UK.
Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden said China's "cumulative attempts to interfere with the United Kingdom's democracy have not succeeded".
He said there was an attempt to compromise the UK Electoral Commission between 2021 and 2022 and attacks against UK parliamentary accounts in a separate campaign in 2021.
Mr Dowden said calling out such behaviour was part of the UK's defence, with allies - including the US - set to issue similar statements to "hold China to account for the ongoing patterns of hostile activity targeting our collective democracies".

Gao says it all. China is not competing with the UK at any level, meaning the UK is a total non-entity. Victor Gao knows that it is useless to try to influence British politicians because they will always just obey whatever the US command them to.

China may not see the UK as a competitor but it certainly views it as a rich seam of intellectual property to be mined. Plenty of clear examples of IP theft, from commercial to military, that should should convince even the most sceptical that the UK is of significant interest to China.

As an Asian person, who's witnessed the effects of Chinese programs in non-Chinese countries, I can assure you that no country is looking for purely win-win relationships, especially China. They're basically doing what Britain did in the past. Have you seen what they're doing in the South Asian countries? They're basically doing country-wide gentrification. It's a new form of colonialism. It didn't quite hit me until I visited the Philippines. You see a beautiful, lavish Chinese casino. Right outside, you will see poor, native, Filipinos, not even allowed entry in certain areas of the most metropolitan cities. Seeing Filipinos banned from parts of their own lands is a disgusting sight. The Chinese are doing what every other massive superpower has always sought to do. Dominate.

@@leelhasa6294If you think China invaded Tibet, then the US also invaded Mexico and Hawaii. Texas was annexed by the US in 1845 and Hawaii in 1898. Tibet, by contrast, was part of China in 1652.

Chinese were not the one meddled with Muslim matter in Britain, nor meddled in Scottish or Irish independent, instead it wanted to trade fairly with Britain. 5 eyes countries complaining about electoral interference really need to engage in major introspection and examine their activities of interference on other countries. To name a few examples: sanctions on Cuba and Venezuela, interference in Pakistani elections pertaining to Imran Khan, Maidan incident in Ukraine, Gaza, Balochistan, etc.

Not that UK is not important but it is not important enough for China to pay special attention if it really wanted to. The British are still living in the glorious days of the past when the sun never sets on its Empire. Does the British honestly believe that it still has any major matter of value which requires China to meddle in UK election to get it ? It’s hard for the British to accept that today China has surpassed in most areas of excellence that Great Britain is so proud of in the past. Only by acknowledging and facing up to present realities and strive for betterment were it be possible for hopes of future progress.
