Chaos, thunderstorm, burgers, and corsets - we finally had a proper girls' getaway last week! Chrissy, @NicoleRudolph, and I flew out to Louisville, met up with the other member of our quadpod Maggie (kzfaq.info/love/tGU..., and @MorganDonner went on a harrowing journey to hang out with us as well! I cannot even begin to tell you how great it was to be in my hometown, with some of my best friends, eating delicious food, visiting some of my favorite museums (seriously, the Frazier Museum is 10/10 - and I am loving how much they incorporate clothing into their museum. Pieces are scattered all over the place and it's *THE BEST*)
Our schedule kept changing due to timing and rain (lots and lots of rain) so here's the rough outline of what we did over the weekend/what's in this vlog -
00:00 - 05:06 Thursday - Roadtriped to Cinncinati to pick up Morgan (cause flight delays are rude like that) & introduced Chrissy to Culver's.
05:07 - 05:42 - FLASH WARNING (Thunderstorms)
05:43 - 10:58 Friday - Went to the Frazier History Museum (www.fraziermuseum.org/), Dinner at Mussel & Burger Bar (10/10), and went to Jane Austen Festival to visit Cassandra's Closet: cassandras-closet.com/ (HI LENA!!)
10:59 - 13:14 Saturday - Went up to Indiana to do a Regency Elf photoshoot for Maggie & her husband's creative project ( / the.travelers.three ) got stuck in a thunderstorm, got frustrated, then said screw it and decide to have an epic Regency Elf photoshoot in the rain. (Cute doggo is Hopi - she's my mom's dog and is a border collie/lab cross) (dresses and gear were fine and survived the chaos)
13:15 - 17:27 Sunday - we collectively felt like we had been hit by busses, we experimented with 1833 hair dye (video coming next month!) on Morgan's hair and went to the Speed Art Museum with the lovely group from the St. Louis Historical Costuming Society (we were just missing @sewstine! ) we were gonna dress out, but between the soaked regency gear and the exhaustion, we all decided to go in plain clothes/history bounding. My camera also died, so I didn't get a lot of footage from the museum (thanks for letting me steal some B-roll, Morgan!)
Anyways, I hope you all enjoy this little vloggy vlog of the trip. I've been dealing with some health stuff, and it was so good to just have a long weekend with some of my favorite people laughing until our sides hurt, chilling on a front porch, enjoying good summer thunderstorms, visiting museums, and just having a bit of a proper vacation.
There's no video next week, so I'll see you all in August with hair dye, rouge, and I believe some Anne of Green Gables content. 😎
