When they say Chains Required it only applies to cars that aren’t all wheel drive with all weather tires. Better safe than sorry but you could have left the chains in the frunk in case of emergency. Thanks for sharing your experience!

was going to say this. That was R-2 condition, but you would have needed them to access go up hills regardless. Requirement 1 (R-1): Chains are required on all vehicles except passenger vehicles and light-duty trucks under 6,000 pounds gross weight and equipped with snow tires on at least two drive wheels. Chains must be carried by vehicles using snow tires. All vehicles towing trailers must have chains on one drive axle. Trailers with brakes must have chains on at least one axle. Requirement 2 (R2): Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four-wheel/all-wheel drive vehicles with snow-tread tires on all four wheels. NOTE: (Four-wheel/all-wheel drive vehicles must carry traction devices in chain control areas.) Requirement 3 (R3): Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles, no exceptions.

Another good video. I run the 3 peak rated snow tires in winter on my Y so I normally do not need to chain up. I drive across the Oregon mountains regularly in the winter so chains are a pain. I do carry them for sure. Heading out to snow again tomorrow.

You probably didn’t really need the chain. But you if got All Weather tires vs All Season, most likely you don’t need the chain in that condition.

It went as expected. Frustrating. Hence no video 🤣 and I don’t recommend these chains anyway. Video soon on that.

Why do you have the charge set at 85% ? Also can you just charge to 90-100% one time and drive longer to safe time ?

Actually it’s faster to charger hop, rather than wait, as the top end of the battery from 80-100% takes much longer to charge. Bottom end of the battery is way faster. Thanks for watching.
