Costco employee here, there’s a misconception that the “Death Star” means a product is being discontinued. It just means that the warehouse doesn’t have any more of that product on order, this can be due to supply issues, or a seasonal/limited time product not being restocked.

At Costco Canada, they can pull any receipt from your membership card no problem. As well as the Costco app. No receipt required
