After 4 challenging days, we exhaustingly finished straightening Mikko's hair! Because I didn't want to put her through too much stress, I chose to do her hair in steps so the sessions were shorter, allowing for more breaks. Though I am really happy with the results, this was a bit too much for me to be able to do this more frequently.

So here I have the straightners on a medium heat. This is the first time we are straightening her hair and because she has naturally curly hair, I don’t want to cause too much damage with high heat. Im also just using Moroccanoil which was recommended by her grandmother who has a similar hair texture and of course more experience than I do when it comes to Mikko hair. (It can be used as heat protector)
I know this is not the traditional process to straighten hair but given our situation I am only using a brush and a small comb for her ends because she has sensory issues and I want to make this process as easy as I can so she doesn’t have a sensory overload.
