While at the Chaparri Ecolodge in Peru, right behind the kitchen, in the compost heap we found an incredible creature. It was a blind snake. Blind snakes are small, delicate snakes that like to live and burrow underground but, this one was different. After confirming with local experts, it was determined this was a new species of blind snake in the Helminthophis genus which is known only to that region of Peru. What a discovery!
Forrest Galante is a world-renowned wildlife biologist and TV Host. His mission is to inspire and educate people about animals and adventure through the media, including hosting programs on Discovery Channel, on-camera expert interviews, and production of his own wildlife and natural history shows.

@@infamousmurderer5274 You probably do! There are several species of worm snakes and blind snakes all over the world. We have them up here in the U.S. and while I've not seen one yet, (a girl can dream) I know they are EVERYWHERE in Florida and a majority of the southern states. However, this guy here was found in Peru, which is not Australia or the U.S. New species keep popping out like popcorn down there, and it would not surprise me if more are discovered in the next week! Biology is beautiful that way. :)

Forest my friend. You and your grandfathers discoveries are simply amazing and i know hed be beaming with pride over your achievements ! Your name is ironic but in a good way, i have followed and noted your discoveries from h2 to here to your shorts aswell as appearances in jre, there is something simply likeable and almost family like about you, you just inspire to learn and want to do better by nature and understand more and i have forever told people to look you up wether by word of mouth or discussions on here. I have the same bug as you but just not as strong a case, nature both captivates and terrifies me lol 😅 ! Everyone should know your name in my opinion. It struck me deep even when you knew you where being scammed was it for leopards im zanzibar ? You still paid out your own pocket for that 1% chance, i knew then you where a real one ! If i remember correctly (had a few glasses) you have a family....well that kids got some big shoes to fill and something gigantic and romantic to look up to 😊 Seriously brother, you are the steve irwin of this age, everytime i hear or read your name attached i get overwhelmed with excitement and i can only hope your approach and demeanor inspires a whole new attitude....the forest galante institution/legacy/foundation...got a ring to it 😊 i think it would be a great idea to teach whole generations with your knowledge outwith social media, you deserve so much better for what you do and how passionate you are. Keep it up please mate, i cant wait to see you hit the congo hunting dinosaurs and that basin you think eremotherium or whatever is lurking in ! Id follow you blind in the wild lol and id donate what i could to the cause and i know many other curious minds would as you come across nothing but genuine and trustworthy and worth the risk ! Much love and appreciation from one deeply inspired 28 year old scotsman ❤😂😌🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

What a find! Congratulations to you and all that were involved! Now the only question's what to do with the thing...I'd be so worried about it, like, letting it go back into the wild where it'd come from like I can't help but to picture the second whoever releases it and they turn their back walking away soon as it's out of eye and earshot, some predator or hungry bird swoops down scooping it up and devouring it. But to try to keep it just in captivity is nearly as problematic, and just as devastating. It's almost kind of like, if someone's real adamant trying to talk you into wrestlin' them, perhaps even bullyin' you, to try to get you to do so, but the person wanting to wrestle has brittle bone disease or an equally, potentially hazardous, condition, with you being well aware that they have it... Yea, just like that! LmMFaO!!! ;) :P :o)
