Really surprised not to see Ocelot Pride on this list. There are a lot of ridiculous one drops these days but that one is definitely something else. An Annointed Procession that also makes tokens itself? Seems pretty good

I bought a ton of Worldwake/Battle for Zendikar packs back in the day, and so I had a bunch of mediocre Eldrazi. I made them into a few different decks based on the various themes and colors, one of which was Eldrazi Scions. I'm really looking forward to building Azlask, the Swelling Scourge with all my scion/spawn cards. Also, I'm really looking forward to making an Abzan land reanimator deck with The Necrobloom. Six help with that a lot, too.

Holy shit! I thought that amphibian downpour was “till end of turn” so I thought it wasn’t that good.. still potentially useful. Like a dress down affect. But I thought it wasn’t quite there. Now I want them for my cedh decks

Everyone is freaking out about all these big flashy cards. Talon gates of madara is going to be one of the most impactful lands in commander. If you view this as an MDFC with a kicker cost…it’s just wrong. No land should do this.

Not sure if its omitted due to energy mechanic reasons, but Chthonian Nightmare is going to be insanely impactful in EDH. Easy to cast and creates flexible value loops that synergize with all manner of ETB and creature death triggers.

I know you said you weren't including "energy specific" cards... but Chthonian Nightmare is not energy specific... It includes energy in the card, yes. However, that is probably one of the top 3 most powerful cards to come from this set.

Necrodominance seems fine but it's not going to have much of an MtgA impact yet because of the lack of free black spells, notably Soul Spike et al

I think many people are too concerned about Kozilek's Command being too hard to cast. Many mana rocks produce colorless mana, some with colors like the talisman cycle. There are many, many utilty lands that only produce colorless mana like rogue's passage, kessig wolf run, or reliquary tower, to name a few. Even the nonbasic slot, such as the pain lands like yavimaya coast or filterlands like mystic gate can produce colorless mana. Kozilek's Command can go right into the Eldrazi precon for example with no issues. Any deck with a sufficient amount of colorless sources is capable of running it even if you have to run straight up wastes for some reason.

I'd say don't sleep on Waterlogged Teachings, but it's an uncommon and will probably be available everywhere for under $0.25 pretty soon. No one cares about instant tutor effects that cost 4, right? You're just gonna play it as a land most of the time because you're not running enough land in your deck.

Yes, a token has always mana value of 0 unless the token is a copy of another permanent, in which case the token copies its mana cost (and thus mana value).

Question about Six. It specifically says you can CAST permanent cards from the graveyard. Doesn’t that mean you actually can’t get lands back, because you PLAY lands instead of casting them? Or were ya’ll saying you needed the Crucible in addition? I ran into this distinction in one of my decks and it kinda boned me. So either we got that ruling wrong (and I’m a happy boy) or Six works for any permanent BUT lands.

Ulamog as a reanimation target with virtue of persistence seems pretty good... As i think on an adventure it counts as mana value 9 ... and can later reanimate an ulamog .... Its such an ugly card ... 😅
