I can almost always hear Emily’s voice saying “awwwww are you just a little baaabaayy”

I had a few of my own, grew them from young animals from the pet store. The female became about 26 cm long, just a tiny bit longer then normal, tail was about 2 fingers thick. Male however was 30 cm long which is insanely long for a gecko of this species, tail was just over 3 fingers thick. I did have eggs, first batch were duds but the rest later on came out amazingly well.

I miss my fat tailed geckos. They’re the best and I’m def gonna get some again. Hopefully some interesting morphs this time. Mine were all natural, which is honestly a very nice coloring on its own. Kinda like ball pythons, who they share habitats with in Africa; the wild type coloring is classic. Still, I’ve been liking some of these darker fat tails I’ve been seeing, some of these “Oreo” hybrids I think? As pets, I definitely think they’re so chill, more so than even leopard geckos, which seem to have a slightly higher energy level, and a more stimulated, “exploratory” nature… at times, leopards can show a little chihuahua “tough guy” attitude! I’ve def seen more “nippy” leopard geckos (if you can call it that!), and they usually get over it fast. But fat tails?? Damn, I think they are literally incapable of being aggressive. Except when a male is horny! 🤣 I introduced a male to a new female, and it was tense at first, I must admit! But I wouldn’t necessarily call it “aggression”, he just immediately popped a very obvious “woody”, and dominated my little female! I felt bad at first, but after that night? They never were separable, they slept all day long cuddled up, and never even mates again that I saw. Females I know can retain sperm and ovulate when weather and conditions are optimal, like a lot of animals… but also he never tried to Nate w her again, at least not in my presence. Never fought or acted mean towards each other ever. They sleep all day, but also basically all night, unless you’re feeding them. The only difference at night is they come out of hiding, to sleep in the open; I had a purple dark nightlight for them and they would usually be out and sleeping under it. During the day they instinctively go underground or shelter themselves - and sleep for literally 20 hours!! Leopard geckos are a little more active than that, in my experience! But both make excellent pets.
