I hate the practice generally, but as many times as you guys are crawling over a hill on those birds, fanning or one of those chicken on a stick type decoys would work awesome.

Greg tough hunt. My hunt ended yesterday in Michigan and went in a similar fashion. I was set up in a ground blind where there was a lot of sign. We have had lots of cold weather so the gobbling has been at a minimum. I figure for the evening I would try and intercept them on the way back to the roost. I went a different route to try to get in undetected and ended up almost walking on top of them like you guys did. Luckily there was a vocal hen that gave them up before I turned the corner. I sat for a few minutes but they weren’t moving so I peeled back and had to cut across a swamp and cross a creek. I was almost out of the swamp and looked up to see them crest the hill where I was trying to get to. They were heading toward me so I got the gun up when they were at 75 yds but then the hen went over the hill and they all followed her. Seen 2 more hens but no more toms. Had deer all around me though. Great hunt but didn’t seal the deal, but learned some great intel for next year. This morning I woke to them right in front of the house. 7 toms all strutting like they were saying Turkeys 1 you nothing. Thanks for the great video. A little tag soup goes great with a cold brew. Greg on that hung-up gobbler - always quit calling and move back from the bird and then call like the hen is moving away - they can't stand it and will come running in looking for that hen. Works every time on my AL public land birds which are tough hunting. Be ready though cause they literally will run at you - you gotta be ready!

Greg you supposed to shoot them like the rest of the crew has last few episodes, footage or not, ambush or not lol. I guess that's why your hunts are usually the best. Goodluck and stay after it!

The bird that fooled you may have been another bird far away- That happened to me - I had one bird close and one far away- So I am thinking that I was talking to one bird and I am thinking - is he coming in or moving away ? I was convinced he was 200 yards away when suddenly the other tom walks up in my face
